Storm was able to try out her new hunting vest right away on her weekend trip to Fish Point.

Storm is ready to go!

Storm has never been duck hunting from a boat or on such big water before.  It didn’t take long for this Chesapeake Bay Retriever to settle in to watch and wait for some ducks to fly by.

Shouldn't there be some ducks flying around out there?

It was a beautiful spot on Saginaw Bay, but the weather was so fair, there was nothing flying around.  I guess the ducks didn’t care that Storm was all dressed up and wanted to try out her new vest.

Decoys are out.

It looks inviting to me.

Nothing flying.

The day continued to be warm and fair with calm winds right through the evening.  This time Tule got to ride in the boat.

Tule in the boat.

Beautiful sunset.

Calm winds.

No ducks.

After hunting Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening and Sunday morning, one Redhead duck heard the calling and spotted the decoys.  Storm finally got her first retrieve!

Storm is demonstrating her retrieving technique on land.

She is a proud, but tired girl.

Even with only one duck, there was a lot of fun to be had for a brown dawg.  There were other dogs to chase, lots of things to smell, and marsh to be explored.

Storm had a great weekend at Fish Point.

Next weekend the Michigan Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club is having a friendly duck hunting tournament.

Team Duckbusters will rule!

(Provided the weather cooperates!  :D)

Storm and Jim thank Cindy, Gary and Chris for a great weekend!
