More puppy info at Shiloh Ridge Retrievers (SRR) and hereΒ  πŸ˜€

This is Beau.Β  He is one of the 12 pups the litter Thunder sired with Tule (bred by Cindy and Gary of SRR).Β  He is a lucky doggie because he gets to hunt a lot.Β  In fact I understand that he is off hunting this week!Β  I asked his person Joe if I could post some of his pictures of Beau here and he said yes!Β  Thank you Joe for allowing me to share your wonderful pictures!

Isn’t Beau handsome?Β  Joe takes some beautiful pictures.Β  I think I am going to have to take up hunting.Β  Not to shoot at birds, (I am sure I would not be good at that), but to hopefully have a chance to take a picture half as good as this:

  1. That is one handsome dude! He sure has the right name! Gorgeous pictures, but I wouldn’t be willing to be up and out before dawn to take them….I think I’ll just oooo and ahhhh over your photos! πŸ˜‰

  2. That’s one pretty pup! Bet the upcoming puppies will be sweet too!

  3. Hi Y’all,

    Wow, what a handsome pup…err…dog.

Hey, hunting can be done with camera! That’s what my Human likes to do. Papa was the hunter..I like to help her, but you have to lay still and quiet.

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

    1. I have thought about it and have gone on a pheasant hunt. Waterfowl hunting is tough though because it is on state land and highly regulated.

  4. You are right, he is totally handsome…..and just so you know, In response to your comment on my blog……He always looks like that. That is why we call him “The Devil”

  5. Beau and I just returned from Pool number nine on the Mississippi River a couple of hours ago. I have a wad of pictures and I will get them out as soon as I can. I am happy and pleased to say that I have finally, after 44 years, taken my first Canvasback!! It is somewhat strange but I have never had a shot at a Can. I decided to change that by going to where the Bull Can calls home for a few short weeks of the year. He was there alright, in numbers exceeding 70,000! At one time on the second day of the hunt we had three flocks of over 100 birds each bomb the decoys. Beau did not disappoint! There were quite a few birds that dove on him way out beyond the decoys… He never lost a bird with one exception of a Greenwing teal that I grabbed when “Mr. Bulldozer” got tangled in three decoys or so… All in all it was a great trip that I AM going to have to do again… REAL soon!

    1. Welcome back Joe. It sounds like you had an amazing time! Jim said he hasn’t had a canvasback since they used to hunt in Canada on Walpole Island (many years ago now). Congrats on getting your first. I bet it was exciting to see all of those birds. Glad to hear Beau did so well. I bet he had a blast! Can’t wait to see all of the pictures!
