Yesterday I shared the Liebster Award, which I was thrilled to receive from jodistone and Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven. (I put the award badge in my sidebar along with links to their blogs. If you have a chance, check out their blogs and the other great blogs that I listed on yesterday’s post. :)) Today I am sharing another award. The Kreativ Blogger Award was awarded to this blog by our pal Bongo at Bongodogblog. Thank you Bongo. The 2 brown dawgs are honored to be recognized. Stop over and say Hi to Bongo. 🙂
The first part of the award requires me to tell you 10 things about the 2 brown dawgs that you don’t know. The second part is to can pass it on! The 2 brown dawgs aren’t very mysterious, so some of my 10 are about Chessies in general, some are about Thunder and Storm, (hopefully not too many repeats), and Nestle snuck in too. Here goes:
1. Thunder and Storm have some common relations. One of Thunder’s Great-Grandfather’s was Storm’s Dad.
2. According to the Chessie standard, Chessies can have white on their breast, belly, toes, or backs of feet. White anywhere else is not allowed under the standard.
3. Thunder has a small white blaze in his chest. Storm has no white on her at all.
4. Chesapeakes were bred along the Chesapeake Bay to retrieve through the harshest conditions. The people who developed the breed wanted a retriever that could make multiple retrieves in the ocean despite winds and tides or frigid cold water. They wanted a powerful dog that was capable of breaking ice to retrieve a bird if necessary.
5. The first time Thunder had to break ice was as a young dog when he was doing his gun dog training.
6. Storm thinks every toy in the house belongs to her.
7. She is lucky that Thunder lets her think that every toy in the house belongs to her.
8. Thunder does not like it when he is in the car and we drive over rumble strips.
9. Storm could care less about rumble strips or anything if she is sleeping while we are driving. She could sleep through a nuclear attack.
10. Thunder is stuck sleeping downstairs while Storm is in season and Nestle has been sleeping downstairs at night to keep him company. 🙂
There are so many blogs that are worthy, but I have to pick six, so I’d like to nominate the following blogs for this award:
1. Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven–Daisy is one cute Havachon pup
2. jodistone–Jodi and her 2 retrievers have a lot of cool adventures
3. Back Alley Soapbox–One Newf was not enough so now there are two 🙂
4. The Chronicles of Cardigan–Is anything cuter than these two Cardis?
5. It’s Me Buddy’s Blog–Maybe these two Cardis?
6. Misty Shores Chesapeakes–Two new puppies have joined the pack
Stop over and check them out and have a nice weekend! Thanks again to Bongo at Bongodogblog.
Tomorrow a few more puppy pictures. 🙂
I love learning new things about you guys!!
Thanks Finn. 🙂
Congratulations on your award!!
I enjoyed learning more about Storm and Thunder!!
I was wondering how you separated them when Storm is in heat!
I think I will add my answer to tomorrow’s post. 🙂
Thanks and thanks for stopping by and for the question. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this award with us! We’re so honored – you made our day….and our weekend! 😀
I love your pics, especially of Young Storm and of Nestle under the tree. It’s always fun to learn more about our blogging buddies – we’ll have to come up with some new Daisy facts to share! 🙂
You are welcome. I have loved meeting Daisy. 🙂
Thank you for honoring us with this award.
I enjoyed your ten things about Chessies. I didn’t know Chessies were bred for the purposes they were, it’s good info to store in my brain for some random trivia game. 🙂
And if I didn’t know better, I would have sworn you were describing Delilah instead of Storm 🙂
You are welcome Jodi. 🙂
You don’t know how many times that I have read something you wrote about Delilah and Storm comes to mind. They are so much the same…lol. When you mentioned that Delilah can get snarky at a fence line…so can Storm. She has been known to do her share of fence fighting with other dogs. 🙂
Hi Y’all,
Congratulations on your two awards!
I must say that Thunder looks really, really proud graduating!
I haven’t been doing much this week, but my Humans have been busy with real life stuff. I didn’t even object ’cause the weather’s been so awful.
I’m really enjoyin’ followin’ the puppies amazing journey.
Y’all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Did you know that it’s snowing on your blog?
Oooh, thank you for saying we’re “kreativ”! Suck a pretty badge, too. JF, Dewi and I are honored.:) (And Buddy and Bear just might be cuter, or at least equally cute.)
I feel like I have a special relationship with all Chessies because we live up river from the Bay (where they originated). Fascinating stuff!
Congrats on your awards, and thanks for sharing everything about your Chessies!
Congrats on another award guys!! Woohoo!!
Glad to hear Thunder and Storm have worked out an ‘understanding’ with the toys! 🙂 Mum used to have two Golden’s who had the same rules when it came to toys – George was most definitely in charge! When I have guests I’m quite happy to share my toys, especially as they never seem to bring any of their own with them?
Have a fun weekend,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Congratulations on receiving another award! I’m a new subscriber to your blog, but already I am hooked!
By the way, the photo of Nestle by the Christmas tree is gorgeous!
Congratulations on your award!
I am very honored you have nominated us for this award.
Great photos, the one of Nestle by the tree should be on a card, beautiful!
You definitely deserve this award. And I enjoyed learning more about Chesapeakes, and about Thunder and Storm today.
AWE Congrats! Well deserved too! (Love the snow falling across your blog also!)
Fun to learn more about you! Rumble strips….they wake me up!
Congratulations on your award, 2browndawgs! I think you really deserve it!
You guys are trained to break ice and have done gun training? As a little pug, all that I have been trained to do is sit and stay and I can hardly handle that. I would love to eat some ice, and chew on a gun, but that’s about all. The only way I can protect my humans is by staring at the bad people with huge pug eyes and hypnotizing them!:P
Thank you! We are very honored that you would think of us for this award. We are certainly in good company. It was very kind of you!
Love the pictures today. Those puppies are adorable!
Congrats on your award! I loved learning about the white coloring and seeing Thunder break the ice! So cool 🙂
Holy smokes, thanks for the award! I very much agree with your appointment as a “Kreativ Blogger”. This will get pushed to the top of my catching up to-do list!
