We had an awesome training day on Saturday.  The weather people predicted rain, but it turned out to be sunny and warm, (a little windy too).  Thunder ran a fabulous triple and a nice channel blind, (more on that tomorrow).  We took Freighter over to the swim-by pond so that he could get a little time in the water.  He had a blast and is learning that the best way to get into the water quickly is to splash!

  1. I didn’t realize Freighter still needed a leash on as he does this. Looks like he is doing good!

    1. He is still on a check cord until he is old enough and trained enough for e-collar. His recall is pretty good, but you never know…

  3. It doesn’t take Freighter long to catch on to anything, does it. He sure did get his splash on and it looks like he thoroughly enjoyed it! That boy’s going places! 🙂 Great shots!

  8. I think I live in the wrong state. You have so many places for your dogs to swim and train. 🙂 We don’t really have any around here, I took the dogs to the boat launch on a local lake once and Delilah decided she wanted to swim across the lake. Yeah, that was scary. LOL

    1. Freighter was chasing a duck the other day and hubby thought he might have to go swimming, but he caught the check cord…lol.

      These pictures are from our trainer’s place he has 2 ponds. The big technical pond and a swim by pond. We put Freighter in the swim by pond while the others were busy swimming long water marks. We are lucky to train there. It is beautiful water.

  10. I’m with Jodistone on this – I’m so jealous! I live on an Island, yet there is NOT many places for my dogs to go splashing around! Looks like he’s having a great time. 🙂
