A couple of weeks ago we trained a nice water triple.  All marks were visible.  The last bumper was thrown so that it landed in a line with another and towards the dog.

Water Triple

These kinds of triples can be difficult.  The mark thrown toward the dog can tempt the dog to break.  Marks which fall in a line can be hard because once the dogs picks up the closer mark, they don’t always remember the farther mark.

We have seen this type of water triple at several of the tests we ran this summer so we were happy to have an opportunity to train it.

Here are some photos of Thunder’s work.

Good Dog!

Storm tried a bit of mischief with her triple and that will be the subject of our Monday Mischief post.

This weekend Thunder is entered in a Finished test.  We had Storm entered, but had to scratch her when she came into season.  Also our dog trailer is finally done.  If I am a bit scarce this weekend, it is because we have to have to pick it up!

Have a nice weekend!

  1. What a nice job Thunder did on that water triple! Good luck on his finished test this weekend. I bet you’ll be happy to finally get your dog trailer. Can’t wait to hear what mischief Storm got into! Have a great weekend! 🙂

  2. Ok, slightly less confusing to me! LOL I think it would be harder for the dog if he had to bypass the closer mark and pick the farther mark up first. It looks like he did a great job! Congrats on the trailer, I’m assuming there will be pictures? 🙂

    Have a great weekend!!

  3. Hey Thunder,

You sure are good at that buddy!!

    Have a fun weekend,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  4. Good boy Thunder! I hope that is a preview of how he will do on the test. Sorry you had to scratch Storm…but what can you do when nature interferes.

  5. FINALLY catching up!! 🙂 Looks like you’ve been busy! Even though it’s not something we’d probably ever get involved in, I really enjoy learning more about hunt training and think your blog is a fantastic resource of information. And very brave too, tackling potentially “controversial” topics that people usually shy away from – like using live birds and the e-collar. I admire that. I struggle with that myself – there are often things I’d like to address on Honey’s blog but then I wonder if it’s a lot easier just to leave things light and fluffy, to avoid getting embroiled in “discussions” and things! 😉

    Like the new look too!

ps. loved the post about Freighter’s “call of nature”!! 😛

  6. Oh dear – looks like our comment has gone into Spam again!! 😛

  7. Great job Thunder!! I can’t wait to read all about Storm’s mischief 🙂

Yeah on the dog trailer, I can’t wait to see it. Will you have it with you next weekend?
