I wish I had a bright and shiny ribbon from Thunder’s Finished test to post.
Unfortunately I don’t, (more on that in another post). Instead here are pictures of our bright and shiny new dog trailer.
Each door locks and there is a place for a pad lock as well. You can open or close the louvers as needed.
The box in the front holds the battery for the fan, the rest is storage.
The next picture is a closer view of the side. The top part is the breeze-way. Only one door is open in this picture. If both were open you could see right through that compartment. There is metal grating over the top of the dogs so they get air. The metal box to the front is the water tank. The fan is above the water tank and so are some lights. The compartments for the dogs are front to back on the smaller trailers. The door is on the side of each compartment.
Here is a view of the inside of one of the compartments. The nice people at Ainley made them larger than standard to accommodate Thunder’s size. You don’t want them too big, but comfortable. I don’t have a picture of Thunder in the compartment, but he fit quite nicely. The compartments are open to one another to allow air circulation and the dogs can see each other. They are also insulated to help keep the dogs warm/cool.
The trailer started out nice and shiny, but unfortunately we drove most of the way home in the rain. It hasn’t rained for a million years, but it rained yesterday. Let me tell you, Iowa to Michigan is a long drive in the rain. I snapped this picture of the Mississippi River with my phone as we drove over. Would have been pretty on a nice day. (I know we need rain, but…)
At least I was able to get one picture outside when it wasn’t raining. 🙂
Thanks to the nice people at Ainley who did a great job customizing this trailer for us.
After I catch up on my blog reading and get my act together, I hope to design a magnetic sticker to put on the trailer for some shameless blog promotion. 🙂
You must be so glad your trailer is finally done. It looks great and I bet the brown dawgs will love travelling in it. It just figures it would pick that one day to rain. Can’t wait to see your shameless blog promotion on it! 🙂
What a really nice trailer. Ainley does such good work. You will have that a long time unless you get more and more dogs and need to trade in for a bigger one! 🙂
It’s beautiful!! The brown dawgs will be travelin’ in style AND comfort!!
Oh wow, what a great trailer. I can’t wait to see what kinds of shameless promotion you come up with for it!!
That sure is pretty!! I bet the dogs enjoy it a lot more too, especially the heating/cooling aspect of it. 🙂
Beautiful! Best of luck with it!
Wow!
That is so nice! I had a ton of questions going through my mind when I saw the first picture, but I kept reading and you answered all of them except one? How did the dogs like riding in it?
Iowa to Michigan? Wow! That is a looong trip:)
That is a very lovely shiny thing!
I’ll add my question to My Brown Newfies–what do the dogs think? Do they treat it just like their kennel in your truck? Or did you have to do some special work to help them feel comfortable with the new trailer?
I love the new trailer. Nothing better than having the tools you need to make everyone happy.
They did a really awesome job on that. Hope you and the dogs enjoy your new toy! 🙂
It’s amazing what we get to keep our pups comfy, isn’t it?
I like shiny pretty things! Very nice, I can’t wait to see it in person 🙂
WOW! That is really nice! What a way to travel!
Promoting your blog is a great idea! Always a good read and fun to follow!
HELLO!! I have missed you all and its been good to catch up and see the ‘new addition’ to your family–I think any pup would love riding in the trailer because no detail for their comfort has not been thought of, but is there a DVD player for the pups to watch videos? 🙂
Nice ride, and putting a sticker on promoting your blog is a fabulous idea! Maybe you could rent out parts of the trailer for blog advertising like race cars do? 😉
That trailer looks better than my car. I need to be one of your dogs.
I would live there!
Your trailer is beautiful, and it sounds like you thought of everything. I’m sure ( after getting use to the ride) they will love it. Plenty of room, fresh air, temp control, water sounds better than the old car ride! Ainsley did an excellent job. Happy Trails 🙂
Oh, my! That is really, really nice. Hugs and nose kisses
