Freighter likes to help.  With everything.

He follows me everywhere hoping to “help”.  He wants to see everything that I am doing.  Sometimes I think he is more Golden Retriever than Chessie.  Our Golden used to follow me around too.  If I am in the laundry room, Freighter is there.  Kitchen, Freighter wants to be there.  Vacuuming, dusting, Freighter is underfoot.

When I put up the tree he was right there.  (Excuse the poor picture quality.  I was busy putting up the tree so I grabbed my phone and the light was not good.)

You Need Help, Right?

I put the tree right in front of the window that Freighter is fond of looking out.  No time like the present for him to learn what “WATCH OUT FOR MY TREE” means.  🙂  It is something all brown dawgs should learn.  I am not totally crazy.  I left the glass ornaments in the box.

I’ll Be Careful

Eventually he gave up and joined Thunder and Storm in a nap.

Putting Up A Tree Is Hard Work

  1. I have the same thing with my 2 Cocker Spaniels!! They follow me everywhere. If I carry the washing down to the kitchen they can both be found sitting by the washing machine door!! When I open the pan cupboard their noses get in there before I can. When I bring the shopping home they have to sniff and inspect each bag!! Oh yes they are a big HELP!!!!!

  2. Awww…. the collies like to help too. Then they like to demolish the indoor collie plumbing unit and like to help us put it back together so they can demolish it again… and it goes on forever… LOL Great post! 🙂

  3. Freighter sounds like he’s a real Momma’s boy! How nice that he wants to help you do everything. hehehe. Your tree is so pretty, probably a good idea leaving the glass ornaments off! 🙂

  4. Mum says your just like Sampson..what are us doggies for if we cant help, all the time?!

    Slobbers

PeeS, Sorry we are SO far behind on your blog- shame on us!

  5. You’re so right about the Goldens following you everywhere! I’ve not gone to the bathroom, walked in a straight line through my house or done anything by myself at home in years! 🙂

  6. Maybe Freighter is part yorkie? I like to help, too, and am always following my assistant around – tripping her!

    Your pal, Pip

  7. I didn’t know you used to own Goldens. We are hiking out in the woods to get our tree this weekend…that is IF I can get rid of this cold by then.
