The date has little to do with my post, but I couldn’t resist.  🙂

Freighter did a little hunting for grouse while we walked through the snowy forest last weekend.  Unfortunately there were no grouse to be found.  There were no other birds either, (except for a couple of crows flying over and squawking at us when we were almost home).  There was little wind and the forest was very quiet.  We saw a few deer and bunny tracks, but not as many as we would have expected with the new fallen snow.

Part of our walk took us down an access road lined with snowy trees.  It was beautiful.

Freighter seemed unimpressed with the beauty of the forest.  He had more important things to think about.

  5. I love the quiet of the forest while it’s snowing (or just after.) Those are the most peaceful times for me, there is something about the muffled stillness that brings serenity to my soul. I’m slightly envious now. 🙂

  6. That forest is so enchanting and I have loved seeing the pictures of Freighter in the snow. I especially love it when they push their snouts under like Freighter is doing in that one pic. So cute!

  11. Awwww! I wish we had snow, but we’ve been to warm. Freighter seems to be having so much fun in the snow, and great photos! As much as Aladdin shivers in the cold, he actually loves playing and sliding in the snow (just about as much as his mom and dad do).
