After we finished up running some blind retrieves last Sunday we ran Thunder on two series of land double marks.
Thunder pinned the double in the first series so we moved the next series back and over a little and added in a diversion bumper. The second time around, Thunder had to hunt a bit on the double but he stayed with it and came up with the bumpers. Both doubles could have been a challenge for Thunder because they were down a hill, in cover and the wind was swirling. Thunder has had limited training on hills and with cover, but he did a very nice job with these marks.
I was operating the winger, throwing a bumper, shooting a starter pistol and trying to take pictures. I managed to get a few pictures of the marks. It was cloudy, but as the day wore on, the sun made a few short appearances.
I also got a couple of nice pictures of the geese that were hanging out on the pond.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge a couple of awards that we received. Thank you so much for sharing these awards with us. We are always thrilled to be recognized by fellow bloggers.

I think I have a lot to learn over here. I don’t know much about retrieving. Your pups look pretty good at it though!

Great pictures! You sound like me trying to do 8 things at once and still get pictures. I am usually at the line running the dog and trying to take pictures. Loved that picture of Thunder pouncing on the bumper. He is so handsome, although he does make me feel like a bit of a retriever failure. Oh, well, I’ll just keep receiving!

Way to be an ace multitasker! I don’t think I could have done all that and still taken pictures, at least not ones that actually would have turned out decently. I always love seeing Thunder work- he never fails to look like he is enjoying his job even though he’s working hard 🙂

You got some great shots of Thunder and the geese. Do you use something special to get such nice clean lines in your diagrams?
I use Paint to make my diagrams and it has a straight line tool. Much easier than free hand. 🙂
ah I will have to check that out, I am not very familiar with paint, I will have to play around with it more.
