Welcome to the This ‘N That Thursday blog hop!

It’s a little of this and a little of that and everything in between…

First I would like to thank Ann of Pawsitively Pets for running a great give-away for a bottle of Wondercide Skin Tonic Spray.  I was super excited to learn that I was the winner.  From the Wondercide website:

Our Skin Tonic Spray is a safe and natural anti-itch spray for people and dogs. Wondercide Skin Spray is made with essential oils of lavender, atlas cedar, lemongrass, and organic neem oil. Skin Tonic Spray is the perfect remedy for dry skin, itching skin, irritated skin, hot spots and numerous other skin issues. This amazing Skin Tonic Spray can be applied right onto the itch or all over the body, providing gentle comfort from serious skin irritations.

I think this is a perfect edition for our first aid kit.  I like to include items that are safe for pets and people.  I can see this coming in very handy, especially for those dang mosquitoes that love to attack me when I am not looking.  🙂

Thanks Again To Ann And Wondercide

Finally, to finish off last weekend’s training we ran all three dogs on a long single water mark.  This mark would require the dogs to swim a bit, cross a strip of land, reenter the pond, and swim some more to get to the bumper.

We used the winger and launched the bumper from a ridge of high ground that runs along the side of the pond.  We placed the winger a long distance from the edge of the pond because we did not want the wind to carry the bumpers to the other side of the pond.

All three dogs did a really nice job on this one.  Thunder and Storm have run many water marks like this so it was a sort of refresher.  Freighter is newer at the game so we were anxious to see how he would do.  No problem for him, he held a nice straight line out and back.

Here are some pictures I took standing up on the ridge:

Freighter continues to be solid on his marks so we are going to start to reintroduce some handling which will be lining drills for now.  We have also entered all three dogs in their first hunt test this season which is in the middle of July.  Thunder and Storm are entered in Masters.  By the time the test rolls around, it will be one year since Storm ran her last test.  I expect she will be rusty.  🙂  We entered Freighter in Juniors.  He is not ready for Seniors so we might as well work to finish his Junior title.  At least he will get back into the hunt test frame of mind.

That’s it for this edition of TNT.  We would love for you to hop along!

  1. That spray looks great. I will have to check it out. The dogs look like they had a fun time in the water.

  2. Wow, they are such clever dogs! Always love your pics- love seeing dogs in action and enjoying themselves 🙂 Good luck with the hunt tests, can’t wait to hear about them x

  3. Great freighter lauching pictures! looks like a nice singleark. congrats on yr win of the give away. super cool everyone is entered. they will do well.

  4. Gotta say that they are really some lucky dogs to get all that physical and mental training that their breed really needs! I bet they are super well balanced at home! So many retriever breeds never get out of their yards and are so frustrated, it is great to see your dogs so happy and active!

  5. Hi Y’all!
Oh gee golly! Wish I was there!
    Y’all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  6. Oooh, that all natural spray is right up my alley. I’m going to have to buy some. 🙂

Great photos, I think the three brown dawgs are going to do very well in their tests this year!! I think Storm will get right back into it, it may take one or two, but she’ll remember. She’s a smart girl.

  7. Look at that splash! What a great way to beat the heat. You all are looking great out there. 🙂

  8. Thunder, Freighter and Storm look so cool in that water. Almost makes me jealous. 🙂

  9. Love the pics, and I really need to get my dog out into some water soon. He loves it! I am seriously impressed with all the training you do with your dogs.

  10. Glad the package made it to you safely 🙂 I hope it comes in handy too! And as always, enjoy looking at the photos of your pups – they are great swimmers!

  11. Congrats on winning the spray! Love that first entry shot of Freighter. I keep trying to get a shot of the dogs like that but I think my camera is to slow, or maybe it’s just me 😉
