It’s Follow-up Friday.  The blog hop that:

Let’s you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.

Thank you to Jodi from Heart Like A Dog and co-host Jodi Chick Kol’s Notes  for hosting the hop!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but this holiday week was busier than most for me.  Kind of crazy.

Yesterday we got out for group training.  We try to take advantage of group training when we can.  It turned out to be a nice day and it was great to spend it with our dogs and our friends

This is Deb and her boy Rumpus. I couldn't resist snapping this cute picture.

Blind Work For Freighter

I thought I would post a video of Thunder doing some handling from a year ago.  He is running blinds similar to those that Freighter was running.  He does a good job on these.  We consider a good job as taking the casts as they are given and not trying to do his own thing.

If the video doesn’t play, try here.

We have been working on stretching Thunder and Storm when running blinds.  Yesterday they tried a 240 yard land blind.  (There was a bit of mischief involved which I will share on Monday.)  Both Thunder and Storm really had to work once they got past their comfort zone.  We will definitely be working on much longer blinds when we can.

Wordless Wednesday–Training

I loved a lot of the pictures I took at last week’s training.  The mark fell at the top of a rise so the background kind of fell away.  It made the pictures seem almost three-dimensional.  Plus the sun was in a good position to get nice pictures.

This ‘N That Thursday–Independence Day Edition

I imagined the caption for this picture to be something like:  “Why does the new kid get the cool bandana and we have to wear these goofy things on our heads?”

Finally, I would also like to give some overdue thank you’s.

Thank you to Caren, Dakota and Cody for sending me this great book which I won in a give-away they hosted.

Health and Nutrition For Dogs and Cats--A Guide For Pet Parents

It was even a signed copy.  How cool is that!  I am looking forward to reading this book.  🙂  Thanks again to Caren, Dakota and Cody.

Way back in May Nikitaland awarded us the Dragon’s Loyalty Award.  Thank you!  I have been following their summer garden project which apparently has suffered a villainous attack.  Stop on over and offer sympathy for the lost veggies.  🙁

Ruby the black labrador awarded us the Versatile Blogger Award.  Thank you Ruby.  Ruby has some great adventures fitting of a black lab living in Australia.  Stop by and say “hi” to Ruby!

We also received the Versatile Blogger Award from our Chessie pal Hawk.  Hawk shares the best pictures of his life and the shore and in the mountains.  Lately we have been learning rhymes to help us remember the colors of poisonous snakes that we might find if we visited Hawk.  🙂

  1. Hhahaha i bet Storm and Thunder wondered why they had to have the “goofy” head gear. And what a sweet sweet picture of Rumpus. So happy. AND Thank You for my cool cool back pack from Frosty Paws. I love it and can’t wait to get my yummy cool treat.
    Blessings,
    Goose

  2. Great follow up. Adore the look on Storm’s face in that holiday photo! (and the photo is wonderful) Adorable lab puppy reminds me of Rudy – sigh – he used to be little…

  3. We met a sweet little 3 month old lab puppy just like your photo this morning on our walk. She thought us big dogs were so cool! I got my Frosty Paws pack on Wed…thank you! You will see it on my blog most likely next week 🙂

  4. Hi Guys! Thanks for the shout-out and yes, we are still in shock over the loss of all of our veggies. It is a sad day over here, but at least we have wonderful friends like you guys! We love you and loved your photographs in this post, especially the adorable patriotic one! We pinned that one on our Dogs Pinterest Board too! (hope you are following along with us on Pinterest too) http://www.nikitaland.wordpress.com

  5. Great follow-up, thank you for joining the hop! I could definitely see the difference between Thunder’s blind run and Freighter’s. I think Freighter’s was great but you can see that Thunder has more experience and totally knows what he is doing. And he loves doing it. 🙂 Have a great weekend and congrats on your prizes and awards!!

  6. Oh, I like the FUF! And I love the looks on their faces in the red, white and blue photos. My dogs didn’t sit so well for holiday photos. 🙁

    1. This is the first time I got a tiny bit of cooperation from them. I think I have worn them down and now they just want to get it over with…lol.

  7. Oh the Independence Day photo is priceless…looks at those faces. BOL Have a great weekend…I hope it stays sunshiny so you can be outside!

  8. Great group training pictures. Nice video of Thunder last year, looked like a longer blind. Congrats on your awards and winning the give away. Have a great weekend.

  9. Congratulations on the awards and I really enjoyed the video of how they do the Blind retrieves 🙂

  10. It is just amazing the training you guys do. It is a great mental training. My dog dad was the same, he was a champion of the great outdoors. Due to my allergies, I can’t participate in such training. LOVE your 4th of July photo. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  11. Love watching your guys training. The intensity in Storm in that first picture is great. We don’t hunt or do much with our Labs, but you inspire me. My sister has a Weim she trains, so I’m going to write about her. Your dogs are so athletic, it fits right in with our FitDog Friday!

  12. Your dogs look great in their patriotic gear but it’s so odd to see a picture of them in “outfits” instead of working in the field Happy Saturday!

  13. I know your blog is called 2browndawgs, but are there actually 3 dogs in your family? 🙂
Thanks for your comments, we appreciate your stopping by!

  14. Hey there brown dawgs! Hope you’re all doing well! 🙂

    Woofs & huggies, <3

    ~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)

  15. As always I am enjoying your blog! 🙂 Love the 4th of july Pic! LOL…. Sorry about not commenting as we used to do. School and retraining is keeping me hopping… but we still love the three brown dawgs on Two Brown Dawgs!!! Keep up the great posts!
    God Bless You!
