  1. Thunder has that perfect look of a dog who is well loved and cared for. Is at peace. Ready for anything that comes along. His name is quite appropriate.

  2. What a great shot. Love the colours of the corn, the light & the look on Thunder’s face. What’s around his neck/body? Some sort of harness? Matches the corn……

    1. Thanks for your question. It is a neoprene vest to help him maintain his core body temperature because the water is cold. It is purposely camo to match the corn. 🙂

    1. He wouldn’t really need it, except the water in the bay starts to get cold this time of year and with the wind, it can make for shivering on that dog stand.

  3. Hmmm, Thunder looks great in that photo. But a question…what do you hunt/flush out from a corn field?!? Some kind of bird? Pretty cool.

    1. They are hunting waterfowl. Mostly duck. Come back tomorrow and I have a video from the DNR about how they set it up for hunters.

  4. Looks like he’s in his element! He’ll have to put his camo vest on for his Halloween costume since he keeps that on. 🙂

  5. Corn and Cammo, what a Combo. Now say that three times real fast.

Seriously, though, those are beautiful photos. My husband’s family raised Chessie’s when he was growing up. I was asking him about it just the other day, and he said they were the only ones in this area of central Texas to raise them at that time (in the 1960’s). He said they had dogs that were the deadgrass and chocolate color, and that they made the best family dogs. They are so beautiful!

  6. Good hiding spot buddy!

    Have fun,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  7. Hi Y’all!

So intent! You can tell he takes his job seriously!

    Y’all come by now,
