Whenever you attend a training seminar, your dog might get used to work on a concept or it might just sit in the truck.  It is just the way it is depending on how the seminar is set up.  There is limited time and limited time to work with dogs.  The Bill Hillmann seminar was no different so there was a lot of time sitting in the truck for the dogs which is one reason that we only took one dog with us.

The seminar was held at Freighter’s daddy’s house.  Of course I mean the woman who owns Freighter’s daddy.  Thanks so much to Sandy Dollar of Cur-San’s Chesapeakes for hosting this seminar and letting us use your grounds.

Sandy has a beautiful piece of property with wonderful training ponds.  During breaks we all grabbed our dogs and threw some bumpers.  The weather was warm when the sun was shining and it was a good opportunity to cool off.

We stayed an extra day on Monday to train with Bill so we did get to try out some of his techniques.  I promise to have some actual specifics from the seminar next week.

This weekend is our Club’s Hunt Test and we will be working the test.  We also have Freighter entered in a couple of Senior tests.  We will see how that goes.

And…Storm comes home today.  We can’t wait to see her!

We are joining the Fit Dog Friday blog hop hosted by Slimdoggy, Peggy’s Pet Place, To Dog with Love.

Have a nice weekend!

  1. Freighter has style, but he doesn’t take those pond leaps like Grandpa Thunder! I can’t believe he’s ready for a Senior test! I still think of him as a little junior puppy, but Dawg’s got moves now! Good luck!

  2. Hi Y’all!

What at beautiful home for brown dogs! Glad y’all had such a good time.

    Y’all come by now,

  4. Good luck Freighter! Juggling dogs who are confined to quarters is not the ideal, unless they are lap dogs! Welcome home Storm…Three Muskateers together again! Hope the weather is ideal for the tests.

  9. Wow what a nice place, can you imagine having that kind of facility to train in every day? Delilah would be in heaven, swimming all the time.

  11. That does look like a beautiful place, and it sounds like everyone had a good time, hope there wasn’t too much sitting around in the truck.
