It seems like we have been stuck in a deep freeze with below zero temperatures and wind chills since the beginning of February.  The severe cold has made it hard to spend much time outside.  Thunder and Storm are senior dogs and don’t mind napping the day away in the house, but Freighter is having a harder time.  He is still young with boundless energy to burn.

When he does get some time outside, one of his favorite things to do is to grab his toy and run!

  1. Running is good with these temps. Bailie and I do lots of racing around so we stay warm when we are out. This winter is miserable. Too warm one day, below zero the next, snow, then mush, then ice, no fun this year.

  2. We can see some fun was had in all that white stuff. We have absolutely none this year which is kind of sad. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. Our temps are similar to yours – right now we’re at 2 degrees with a wind chill of -16. Daisy is not thrilled. We got about 6 inches of snow yesterday on top of several inches of solid ice…Daisy may not like it, but we sure do! 😀

  4. We’re in the same spot as you. Sherman is perfectly fine spending the cold days napping but Leroy is getting antsy even though he doesn’t have the coat or fat to keep him warm enough this year to be out there for extended amounts of time!

  5. We are stuck in that deep freeze too. Neither one of my dogs wanted to walk this morning which was fine with me. LOL

So Freighter is fine with the cold, but how are the humans?

  6. Certainly beats learning how to dust! Erynn in the freeze has stepped up her interest in cooking!
Tomorrow we head to Bass Pro and a nice long walk ~ looking at guns, smelling dog treats,
studying stuffed animals and watching the fish stream!

  7. Freighter had a blast out there, didn’t he? You got some really nice pictures of him romping through all that snow!

  8. Hi Y’all!

Is it Fit Dog Friday already? I know time flies faster and faster as we age, but really!?

    Y’all come on by,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  9. Sounds like our house, and our dogs! Callie and Shadow don’t mind napping the day away at times, either; but Ducky is like a hyperactive kid — has to play, play, play. 🙂 But her idea of play is “keep away from Mom”. Hey, I don’t mind as long as it tires her out! “A tired dog is a good dog.”

  10. It’s good to see Freighter out there having fun! The snow is so great for exercise, so it’s especially frustrating when it’s too darn cold to play out there! We’re in the middle of February now, so I think it’s time for a thaw. Our older girls aren’t even happy about being cooped up….I swear, they get just as fidgety as Luke does.
