There are many photos of Storm with her trusty Kong on this site.  It has always been her favorite toy since she was a little puppy.

But last weekend all of that changed.  Kong has been replaced by…

Red Bone
Red Bone

Let me explain how it all happened.

I took Thunder and Storm out to play a bit in the snow.  Storm normally hogs the Kong so I also took out Red Bone so Thunder would have a toy too.

Play time started out normally with Storm hogging the Black Kong.

Then all of a sudden…switcheroo…Thunder had Black Kong and Storm had Red Bone.  I don’t think it was Thunder’s idea.

That is the way it stayed…

and Storm played with her new favorite toy…Red Bone.

I wonder how long before there is another switcheroo?

  1. This is so funny. I have two dogs and they are very selfish with their toys. I don’t know if a switcharoo would go down in our house.

  2. That’s definitely better than fighting over the same toy, which is what mine usually do! What brand is that red bone….I need to find some new indestructible toys that Luke will play with.

    1. It is by Ethical Pet. I am not sure how indestructible it is though. I don’t let them chew it. It is hard silicone and I am not sure it would stand up to my chewers.

      1. Thanks for letting me know that. I really need something that Luke will be interested in playing with outdoors, but that he can also bring in the house and chew on. He seems to lose interest in them otherwise!

  3. Storm’s puppy picture is beyond adorable, and I don’t think Thunder could possibly be more excited to have sole possession of that Kong . . . finally!

  4. Well a woman has a right to change her mind, right? 😉 Looks like both dogs won in the long run, they’re both great toys!

  5. Awesome pictures as usual. 🙂 Playing find the buried toy is great fun around here too. I think one or two may be buried in the foot of snow for a while yet though.

  6. Hmm I wonder how long that will last as well. I wonder if that red bone is the same as a soft rubber green bone we have here. I got it for Laika when she was young and she carries it around with her but doesn’t dare try to chew it.
