Thunder is expecting a guest this weekend.  It is Miss Glory from Sand Spring Chesapeakes.

Last week we got word that Glory is in season and that she is coming here to visit Thunder.

Hopefully a couple of months after this visit there will be little ThunderGlorys.

But first things first.

Thunder needs to get things ready for her visit because he does not want Glory to get lost.

Next he put on some inspiring music.

Finally he rounded up plenty of yummy snacks and dog approved toys.

But seriously, this is a planned breeding which has been in the works for several months.

Responsible breeders will make sure to have health screenings done well before any breeding is considered.  Thunder and Glory have had their health screenings including hips, elbows, eyes and DM (degenerative myelopathy).  In addition to health screenings, they have both had brucellosis tests done and are negative for the bacteria which means that they are clear to be bred.

Now all that is left is the actual breeding and then we keep our fingers crossed that there will be puppies!  More information the litter on Sand Spring’s site here.

  1. Breeding is so exciting, I hope it goes well and we can look forward to a Glory, Thunder litter 🙂

  2. First off, thanks a lot! Now mom is screeching Love Shack at the top of her lungs (she loves the B52s). Secondly…actually we’re not 100% sure what to say in situations like this because “good luck”, “have fun” and “may the force be with you” just don’t sound right. Anyhowl, we are sure Glory will appreciate your romantic gestures Thunder!

    1. You are welcome for the song of the day…lol.

  3. Love is in the air!!! C’mon rugrats… 🙂

  4. Mom says I may have to cover my eyes on these posts for a while…not sure why??? She does know some song which is called Love Shack. Hope the weekend is successful.

    1. LOL don’t worry Thunder and Glory won’t be sharing details or pictures. 🙂

  5. LOL Love this! And so excited to think there will be Thunder Glory puppy pictures in our future!

  6. Now I’ve got Love Shack stuck in my head! Little Glorious Thunders or Thunderous Glorys will be so adorable! I’m sure it will be love at first sight. 🙂

  7. The Love Shack is one of my favorite songs. 🙂 So how does it work in a breeding such as that? Do you get paid a fee or do you get a puppy?

  8. Hi Y’all!

My Human says she doesn’t know “love shack”, but she knows “sugar shack”…it was a place (a little store) on the Eastern Shore of Md.

Thunder, you’re a “dude”, fellow! You’ll have all the ladies flockin’ to your door! Not just Glory.

    Y’all come on by,

  9. Haha, never heard that song before but I did noticed that Glory and Thunder breeding badge on the Sand Spring Chesapeakes blog perhaps 1 or 2 weeks back!! Erm, looking forward to cute puppy pics! 😀

  10. I’m sure all will go well for Thunder & Glory’s romantic weekend! How sweet!! Will be looking forward to puppy pix soon!

  11. Hopefully there will be a “Momma Suite” before long! Shackin’ up is okay for a few days, but a lady named Glory really needs a suitable palace/place to nurture the wee ones until they show up! Thunder is such a wooer, treats
and tpys, what Chessie girl can resist such amorous efforts! Hope all of the
doggie preps have fantastic results. It is Spring and luv is in the air!

  12. Thunder really knows how to prepare for his lady! We will have all of our fingers and paws crossed here too!
