As I recover from my surgery, there has been a lot of hanging around at our house.

A few years back, we took our patio furniture up to the cabin because in truth that is the only place we ever have a shot to stop for a bit and sit on it.

Being home all day I thought it would be nice to sit outside and let the dogs enjoy the yard rather than putting them in the run.  I grabbed one of the chairs that we use at hunt tests.  The dogs could not figure it out.  I had the chair, but there were no gunners or ducks in sight.

Storm would not let me out of her sight.

Thunder laid in the grass but also kept an eye on me.

Freighter needed to check out the chair.

Thank you to everyone for all of the well wishes last week.  I am slowly catching up as I feel up to it.  I have also gone back to work on a very limited basis (just a couple of hours to start).

I also wanted to send a special shout out and thank you to JoAnn from Sand Spring Chesapeakes who sent me puppy pictures and video from the Thunder x Glory litter every day that I was in the hospital.  The pictures and videos so brightened my days.  Thank you friend.

Have you been missing out on Thunder x Glory puppy pictures and video?  Well you need to follow Sand Spring Chesapeakes on Facebook or Instagram to see them all.

  1. I’m glad you doing better each day and what jim didn’t have time to buy patio furniture when you were in the hospital? And I’m such a slacker this week not keeping up with photos now that they are bigger there is so much more work I’m not getting it all done. Thank you for the kind words and shout out.

  2. Brown Dogs are a suspicious lot! 😛 Take the time to rest up!! Although it sounds like you prefer to be up and busy!

  3. There is nothing quite like having three therapy dogs on duty! Not their usual schedule but the Chessies know something is amiss, and do not trespass! Those expressions are priceless. Healing takes time, take care.

  4. That was great that you could enjoy this fabulous little furballs while you had to stay in hospital, what a pawsome idea! I agree with you for the patio furniture. I bring them out efurry year… and bring them in in fall, I can’t remember when we really used it. Your idea with the hunting-test-chair is great, think we will buy one too . (Easy still hopes that kind of chairs come including ducks)

  5. I’m glad your recuperation is going well and that you’re doing better. It’s so funny how our pups associate certain things with particular activities, then don’t understand it when it’s used differently. Such a cute post! Keep feeling better!

  6. I’m glad to hear you are on the mend. I’ve been following Gkory and Thunder’s crew And they are so adorable. I hope JoAnn keeps in touch with the peeps who take the puppies so we can continue to see how they grow.

I bet the brown dawgs are anxious for that chair to be taken out at a hunt test.

  7. Well, I’m so far behind I missed the whole thing about your illness and surgery 🙁 So glad you’re home and feeling better. Laughed out loud about the dogs keeping an eye on you and being confused. Jeffie and Rudy really don’t like a lot of change and they’d have been suspicious, too. Take care!

  8. We all think some down time might be nice, but not under those circumstances! And when it comes right down to it, most of us would rather be active. Your dogs definitely don’t seem used to you sitting still! 🙂 But it’s always wisest to do exactly what the doctors say so that your recovery can go quicker and be thorough.
I’m glad you’re recovering and that you had those puppy photos to help you through the time in the hospital!

  9. The Dawgs do know what is important. Phoebe knows exactly which pan I use to make popcorn. The tail starts wagging the moment I get it out.

I do hope you’re up and around and back to your old self soon. Glad your recovery seems to be going well!

  10. Glad you’re feeling better and taking it easy! The puppy pix have been soooooo cute!!! They made my day every day, too; and I wasn’t even in the hospital! I try to spend time out in our yard every day with my girls; but we’ve finally been getting some rain today and last night so it was too muddy and slippery to play out there even when the sun was out.

  11. Hi Y’all!

Read this one before, but thought I’d left a comment. Gettin’ absent minded like my Human!

    Y’all come on by,
