Over the weekend the brown dawgs were waiting and hoping.  The weather forecasts were predicting snow for us.  Not just a little.  We were supposed to get a significant amount…if the storm stayed on track.  The last couple of predicted storms sort of fizzled out but not this one.  It started snowing Sunday morning and continued all through the day and into the night.  Oh boy!  Tons of snow!  Glorious snow!

It was the fluffy kind of snow and the brown dawgs could not wait to get out to play in it.  Since it snowed all day Sunday, I was not able to take pictures of the fun until it stopped on Monday.  By Monday the snow had lost a bit of its fluff, but it was still soft enough for fun.

Finally I got out the toys and it was time for fun!

I decided to take out soft toys for the dogs to play with in the snow.  Thunder has an injured canine which makes it difficult for him to play with hard toys once they get cold.  Thunder took the cammo bone and shook it just to show it who is the boss.

Eventually Thunder got tired and plopped down in the snow to chew his cammo bone.

Storm tried her best to bury her toy.

Freighter was not much interested in toys.  He still likes to eat the snow.  That is right…5 years old and still eats snow.

While we were out playing some geese flew over heading south.

In truth, while they were flying south, they were probably just looking for a place to hang out where there was less snow, glorious snow.

  1. It looks like Rye would fit right in with your gang. She loves to give her snow-covered toys a shake and then lay down with them. She thinks eating snow is great, too. Barley likes to eat it when we walk–she’ll bounce through it a few times, then dive face first and come back with a mouthful of it–but she has no interest in laying all the way down in it.

  2. Super fun and happy you guys have snow to play in too. It makes winter so fun!

  3. Those geese probably couldn’t get out of town fast enough…they probably wondered why they waited too long! Your dogs look very happy. We’ll be sharing some snow photos tomorrow too!

  4. snow much fun! and to bury some toys in the snow is a good idea… in case you furgot the place, they come back when the snow is gone :o)

  5. Great snaps of the crew enjoying the snow! So funny about eating the snow! Rita has never even seen snow, but I can’t imagine she’d eat it. (I can sometimes barely get her to eat real food!) Enjoy!
