Smokey’s due date is getting closer.  (If you are new to reading this blog, Smokey is Thunder’s daughter.)  We are just so excited waiting for the puppies.  Of course we are excited because we get to sit back and enjoy while Smokey and her breeders do the work. 😆

These pictures were taken last weekend and she already looks like she is ready to go.  🙂

Also just in time for Christmas, the 2012 Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief & Rescue Calendar is available for purchase.  This is one of the organizations dedicated to helping Chessies in need.  The calendar is $20 which includes shipping with 100% of the proceeds going to help the dogs.  These are great calendars which of course feature cute Chessies throughout the year. 🙂

  1. Ack, I feel Smokey’s fatigue! Those pictures took me back to when I was 9 months pregnant and there was no truly comfortable position to be in. So glad those days are over! LOL

    Can’t wait to hear the good news and see pics of the new puppies!! 😀

  2. Oh poor Smokey, I remember too well the bloated, icky feeling of being ready to pop! LOL I hope for her sake the birthing comes sooner rather than later.

  3. I went to your breeder’s website to see puppies (always a cheer-up in the morning 🙂 )… i know the ones I saw aren’t smokey’s but holy cow, chessie puppies are cute – and they’ve already got that ripply chessie coat so early! Adorable. So excited to see Smokey’s puppies!

    1. Chessie pups are adorable and have blue eyes. Not sure which pups you saw, but I think there are pictures of the litter Thunder sired and pictures of Thunder’s litter when he was just a small pup. Could you spot Thunder? 🙂
