Sometimes I have trouble remembering birthdays, especially the animals’ birthdays.  I don’t know what it is but, I have to look them up.  Thunder’s is March 14, but for the life of me that date just will not stick with me.  You would think I could remember Nestle’s which is October 1.  Easy date, but I never remember it.  The only one I remember without looking it up is Storm’s which is June 25…half Christmas.  🙂  The pups were born 11-21-11 and with all those “1’s”, I think it will stick in my head.  Thank goodness because one of the boys is going to join the 2 brown dawgs sometime in January!

Yesterday was Day 4 pictures, these are Day 6.  Thanks to Cindy for the pictures.

We don’t know which boy yet.  All we told their breeder Cindy that we want a super birdie dog to run hunt tests. 🙂  So here’s to potty training in the winter…woohoo!

And for more cuteness, here are the girls:

Tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday, so Thursday I will talk about why we decided to get a pup from this breeding.

  1. Ah, potty training in the winter, what fun, what fun! Those little guys and gals are so adorable!

  2. AWWW they’re just TOO cute!! How exciting that you’ll be taking one of the puppies (apart from the winter potty training!) – I’m really looking forward to watching him grow. I’m prepping for a LOT of “awww” moments! It’ll be interesting to see how Thunder and Storm react to the new little bundle of joy. 🙂

    Daisy’s birthday is one day before Thunder’s – March 13. 🙂

    1. Hopefully they will just think of him as another playmate. Of course due to the weight difference, we will have to really watch their play at first.

  3. Oh I’m so jealous you are getting a puppy!!! But then it won’t the 2 Brown Dawgs anymore!

Potty training is such fun especially in the winter. Sampson was born in July and we got him in September, I think he was potty trained by the end of November. Of course I was one of the lenient moms who put him in a big crate with newspaper at the end. 🙂

    1. Thunder was potty trained in about 2 weeks. Storm took much longer. Hopefully pup will be more like his grandfather. 🙂

I thought long and hard and I am going to keep my blog name the same. 🙂 If you notice, I have already started changing my tag line to read “The escapades of our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers”, instead of “2 Chesapeake Bay Retrievers”.

  4. I didn’t know you were going to take one of the puppies! That’s fantastic! I can’t wait to read all about hime growing up. Things are going to be pretty exciting around here. 🙂 Congratulations!

We don’t know our dog’s birthday, but I’ll never forget the date of the day we brought her home. It will be ingrained in my brain for the rest of my life.

    1. Our kitty is a rescue (we got her as an adult) so I think her birthday is not exact. 🙂 Maybe that is why I can’t remember such an easy date? 😆

  5. Ooh, you’re getting one of the puppies?! So exciting! They are cute as buttons, and oh-so-huggable. Potty training when the snow might be taller than the puppy won’t be fun, but hopefully the two brown dawgs will help their new little buddy out a bit and teach him quickly the ways of ‘don’t pee in here!’ 🙂

  6. Adorable, gorgeous little pups. Don’t you just love little puppies…they are just so sweet and cuddly. Hugs and nose kisses

  7. We got Bart and Gizmo the January of the heaviest rains Los Angeles had had in 100 years! LOVED going out in the middle of the night! Those boys are definitely SQUEEE-worthy!!

  8. Those pups are growing like weeds!! I have another date for you… Beau’s birthday is Tomorrow! 12-1-11… Well, actually 12-1-08… but 2011 is this year! I think we should try and get some ducks tomorrow! The flight Mallards are in!!

  9. Hi Linda! Puppies are the most cute thing and yours are so beautiful! You will have so wonderful time with a new puppy, watching him to grow and learn with Thunder and Storm! Have you already name for him?
    Hugs from Teje & Nero

  10. Hi Y’all!

Still keeping the Human from lookin’ at those pups! They are too cute; even I admit that!

Snowin’ here in the mountains. My Human isn’t happy now that it’s layin’ at our elevation. She’ll be happy when they get back to the low country.

    Y’all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

    1. Snow is so much fun! We are getting some ourselves this morning. 🙂 But we know snow in the mountains can be a bit too much.

      the 2 brown dawgs

  11. Pretty adorable at day six. I wish my mom could have seen me at that age. I could’ve gotten away with so much more than I already do…ahhhh…the missed opportunities! Can’t wait to hear why you liked these pups!

    1. All puppies are cute, aren’t they. We are looking forward to when they open their eyes and start running all around. 🙂

  12. THREE brown dogs?! I can’t wait! When does he come home? At 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks? Any potential names picked out yet?

    1. I think they will come home somewhere around 8 weeks, give or take a few days either way. Name is still a work in progress. 🙂

  13. Ha! When we adopted Gretel we had to potty train her in the winter. The first week we had her it snowed! (which is rare for Seattle). So excited you are getting one of the pups. We can’t wait to watch him grow 🙂

  14. Ohhhh my word! I had no idea that you were getting one of the puppies!!! Yay!!!
I can’t wait to meet him!!!

Sherman’s puppies were born the day after his birthday, so that is how I will remember:)) (but we are not getting one out of that litter)

    1. Provided you can remember Sherman’s birthday, you can remember the pups’ birthday. 🙂 See my problem would be with remembering the first birthday. 😆

  15. Oh they are just the sweetest! I can’t wait to see the pup grow up via pics on your blog – how fun! Love your Christmas header & background – we’re hosting a “Christmas Canines & Friends Sleigh Ride” video to be posted on Christmas Day and we’d love our blog pals to join in! Full details in the header on our blog. Just love the snowy pic of the two brown dogs with their festive red collars!

  16. A 3rd brown dog! That’s awesome! Congratulations! I’m looking forward to more puppy updates and reading about how the transition goes. Have you already ordered a dog house?
