For new followers to my blog, on Sundays I participate in “Sunday Stills”.  It is a weekly photo challenge with a different challenge subject each week.  I started participating in this a couple of months ago in part to share some of the random (non-dog) pictures I have in my archives, and in part to try to improve my photography skills.

This week’s challenge is to back light something.  This was a difficult one for me because there is just not that much light this time of year.  I waited for a sunny day and then it was almost too bright because the sun was in a bad spot.  I got a few pictures where I kept the lighting in back of the subject.  Not the greatest, but I tried.  🙂

Here goes…

Last Leaf
Storm
Nestle

And this one taken with my cell phone when I stopped to pump gas.

Strip Mall At Dusk

To see other people’s photos, just follow this link to the post for this week and go to the comment section and follow the links posted there.  If you do, you will find a lot of talented photographers.  🙂

  1. I think they are beautiful. I really like the leaf and Storm of course.

  2. I think they’re all great, I really like the colors on the one from your cell phone.

  3. I agree with Linda. You did a beautiful job with the strip mall–not a subject I’d ever expect to be so lovely. Nice job.

  4. Very nice shots…we like them all but the second one is just outstanding! Hugs and nose kisses

  5. I love checking out your Sunday stills challenge, I think my favourite is the one of Storm, but then I’m a little ‘Doggy biased’ Tee Hee

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  6. Great pics.I won’t admit to liking a cat but my person says her favorite is the one of Nestle with the Christmas tree in the background.

  7. Hello my dear, I just wanted to let you know I am presenting you with the Liebster Award. You can read all about it on my blog.

    Congratulations!

  8. These pictures are so beautiful! We have been trying really hard to improve our photography skills. We are always taking pictures of Bunk but really not all of them are focused. I think part of the problem is that we need a better camera. Some people however keep telling me that you can work with even cheap cameras to do some home video and some nice photography. We are even thinking of taking a class next semester. What do you think? Your pictures are so awesome, how long have you been doing this for? (We started about 3 months ago when we got bunk so I am wondering!)

    1. Thanks for stopping by Bunk. I have been blogging for a while, but regularly for about a year or so. I am glad you like my pictures. I point the camera and hope for the best. I have a point and shoot camera, nothing fancy. I think it is great if you decide to take a class. Then you can teach me. 🙂
