Some time ago For The Love Of My Dogs was kind enough to award us the Versatile Blogger Award, here.  I feel badly that it took so long to acknowledge it and to get this post up.  Once again I plead puppies.  🙂  (How long can I get away with that excuse?)

Freighter In The Snow

If you have not discovered For The Love Of My Dogs, you must stop by and give it a read.  While you are there, wish little Chelsea well because she just had FHO surgery and is recuperating.  🙂

And now to the award…

The rules for the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:
1. Thank the award giver and link back in your post.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass this award along to as many as 15 blogs you enjoy reading and let them know about the award!

7 things to share:

  1. Storm has always been a different sort of Chessie and a bit of a challenge to train.
  2. At age 4 1/2, Storm still chases her tail.  Yep it is true.
  3. She seems to do it as a delay tactic; say when it is time to come in from the yard and she wants to stay out a bit longer.
  4. We were so afraid, (in a this-is-going-to-be-embarrassing kind of way), that she would do it when she went off to the trainer and he pushed her to run marks or blinds past her comfort zone, (200 yards +).
  5. The trainer is a pro and worked on stretching her comfort zone so that she never did the tail-chasing thing. 🙂
  6. In training water blinds she would occasionally start to swim in circles when she was pushed past her comfort zone.
  7. Again, the trainer worked on stretching her comfort zone so that she now easily swims 200+ water blinds.

Good Girl Storm

I would like to pass the award on to some deserving blogs.  It is tough to choose because there are so many great ones out there, but never fear, I still have two awards to pass on.  😉  These are some blogs I recently discovered and I would like to learn more about them.  If you haven’t already discovered them yet, they are well worth a read.

Thanks again to For The Love Of My Dogs for sharing this award with us.  As I said, I have a couple of more awards to share and I will try not to take three weeks to do it.  🙂

  1. Congratulation! I laughed when I read Storms delay tactics. I think it’s pretty cute that she still chases her tail! What a great picture of Freighter in the snow!!

  2. Congratulations. And as for being distracted by someone as cute as Freighter, don’t feel bad about a single thing!

  3. Thank you so much for the blog award!! I might not get a chance to do it for a couple of weeks, but I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate it!! 🙂

  4. Congrats on your award– we love reading your blog!

And OMG that photo of Freighter is too cute!!! Loved reading more about Storm and especially the tail thing 🙂 Scarlett chases her tail sometimes and she’s a bit of a clumsy girl so it’s always pretty entertaining!

  5. Freighter’s just going to be the end of mommy. She can’t get past his adorableness. “Mommy, we’re right here!!! Look away from the puppy!”

    AROOOOOF!
Boondocks & The Love Shack Pack

  6. Wow! Thank you so much for the award! We are completely flattered. This is a first for our blog. We’ve enjoyed reading about your Chessies so much since finding your blog and look forward to learning more about a totally different type of hunt training than we’re used to!

  7. Congrats on your award! Oh my goshies… that look on Freighter — how could you resist?!

    Woofs & hugs, <3

    ~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)

  8. Sounds like you have a great trainer… sometimes I wish I didn’t have to train my dog so others could figure out how to get past her quirks. Is that horrible to say? At the same time I love training her, especially when we have light-bulb moments and we figure out how to get past a bark fit. Wyatt has been interesting to train too as he will sometimes circle as well, giving him a task he knows clearly seems to stop the shark circling and refocus him.

PS. I am enjoying watching how freighter’s face is changing.

  9. CONGRATS on the award!! I love when bloggers get them because you get to learn something about them, that you might not ordinarily, and this post, was no exception! 🙂 THANKS for sharing, I hope you’re having a good weekend!!

  10. Congrats! No worries…the puppy excuse works for a long while. All our peeps have been there and know how much time and work a new puppy can be! Great to hear about Storm, the tail chasing and training! So much focus there. I am quite impressed!

  11. Oh congrats to you (and of course puppies is a very valid excuse!)

and thank you so much from all of us for the award, means a lot for you to think of us! <3

Plus what interesting info about your chessies, we love the photos too.

Now…who to pass the award on to?

    Big Slobbers

  12. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
You deserve this and many, many more awards. Keep up the great work and that Freighter is absolutely adorable!

    God Bless You!

    The Collies and Chuck 🙂

  13. Hi Y’all,

Congratulations on a great award! I’m on my way to check out the couple of blogs I don’t recognize.

    Y’all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  14. Congratulations on your award, very well deserved!

Maybe tail chasing is Storm’s way of comforting herself when she is stressed. Personally I prefer Xanax, but Storm doesn’t have that option. 🙂

  15. out of bed for just a few minutes, but wanted to pop on here and tell ya i miss you! i’m healing along, but am finding it a slower process than a decade ago. 🙂 i have post-op later this week and then we’ll see what the future holds for treatment of & hopeful avoidance of further run-ins with the endo. hopefully our chances have improved as much as my doc had hoped of us getting pregnant this year. will keep ya posted. sorry if this is a TMI comment.

but i wanted to say congrats on the award. it’s a dead-on one for you to receive. 🙂

oh and MOST importantly, freighter is so gosh-darned adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ::hugs::
