Freighter attended his first training day. The weather was beautiful which allowed us to leave the van door open so he could check out all of the action. He needs one more set of shots before we will feel comfortable letting him walk around so he watched from his crate in the van. He was none too pleased that all of the big dogs got to run out in the field and he didn’t. He marked a few of the bumpers, but since they were quite a distance and many were black, they were a bit too far for him to really see them. From his vantage point, all he saw were dogs running around a field and he wanted in!

We are so glad that we waited for a day with nice weather to take Freighter to meet our group. It was a large turn out so there were a lot of people to meet and a lot of dogs to watch. Freighter seemed to really enjoy being there. He was friendly to everyone, dogs and people alike. It was a great opportunity to socialize him. At one point one of the people in our training group who breeds Golden Retrievers asked if she could take Freighter and put him in the crate next to her Golden who wanted to play with him. I said sure. Freighter had a blast exploring a new place and meeting a friendly dog nose to nose through a crate. He had no problem going with our friend and I think would have hung out there longer, but it was time to leave. Thanks Deb for helping to socialize our little pup.
The only problem with all of this adventure is that now Freighter has learned there is a world beyond the family room and the backyard and he wants to see it all. But not before a nap.
Tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday and Thursday the rest of Freighter’s big weekend. Yes there is more…
Woof! Woof! Still a puppy so NAPs are the priorities. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Cutest “wanted” poster I have ever seen. hehehhe
Blessings,
Goose
I can see the longing in his face to run with his buddies!
Freighter sure doesn’t look impressed that he didn’t get out with the big dogs. I swear he just gets more adorable every day! I love what Goose said, “Wanted Poster” perfect!! LOL!
What a great place to socialize him! He looks like he’s saying, “Put me in coach, I’m ready to play, today.” 🙂
Oh yes Freighter, there is a big wide world out there, get your snoozies now because there is much for you to see and learn!
I wondered when you guys were going to start training him. Watching and getting him excited is the first step I guess. Too bad he couldn’t get out and run with the big dogs but he probably would have been to distracting to them….plus I understand that health is the first concern.
He looks eager to get out there. What a great experience for him!
Aww, sleepy Freighter is a good ending.
In that photo series he looks like he’s saying, “I’VE BEEN FRAMED!!!” Poor Freighter, you’ll get your turn, buddy!

Ahhh….what a successful day!
Aw Freighter, your growing up so fast, bet you can’t wait to join in the fun!

Looks like Freighter had a good time but I bet he thinks he’s ready to run with the Big Dawgs.
YAY! Your are finally seeing a bit of our world out there!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
He’s definitely checking things out.
It must be really hard to watch and not be able to join in the run. But soon he can be out with the others. Maybe he watched and learned a little from what he saw. It was really nice that he got to be next to the Golden for a while to meet and spend a little time. Adorable pictures 🙂
Hi Y’all,
That first picture says it all! The expression is priceless!
Y’all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Freighter is such a sweet little thing!!! We are glad he had a great time with the big dogs even though he didn’t get to run around 🙂
We look forward to watching as Freighter starts training and learning the big dog ropes!
