Ah the carefree days when Freighter was sweet and innocent.  He used to spend his time hanging out with his Hedgehog (the toy with his mommy’s scent).

The sweet pup is no more.  He has turned into Destructo Pup.

And we no longer have the red rug that was in front of the door.  Somehow Destructo Pup got a hold of it while in his crate.  He must have used his little puppy teeth or his little puppy tongue to pull the corner into his crate.  The rug went to the curb.

  1. Ah yes, the puppy teething blues! Hope the antler keeps him busy for s while. It is amazing how they can get a hold of stuff to chew, even while in a cage. Give him lots of hugs from us for he is too cute.

  2. Worst thing wyatt pulled into his crate were old family pictures… came home to a nice pile of bits and pieces inside his crate. Needless to say not much was left on his crate after that. But now his crate is the shelf for most of the dog equipment, and he doesn’t touch a thing. I have a plastic crate for Luna so that has never been a problem with her. Oh puppies
    Hope the antler keeps him happy, I bet it will since they tend to like the kongs. Mine find it too hard of a chew, not worth their time lol.

    1. So far he likes the antler. I think it is just helping get those puppy teeth out, (as did the rug). I would have been really mad if he grabbed photos…lol.

  3. Hey Freighter, Jet here. Mom always adopts older K9s, so we have no fun stories to share about that. Oh dear, Destructo-Pup… like the moniker… perhaps you and JJ, The Chewminator, can get together for a showdown! She hasn’t figured out how to chewminate the antler yet either!

  5. Antlers are about the only thing bert gets and even then I have to watch because beleive it or not, he makes his way through them.

    Well, you can always hope he grows out of it when the puppy teeth are gone.

  7. I see Freighter has earned the same nickname as Daisy – we have a whole page on our blog dedicated to “Destructo Pup Tested Toys”! It’s tough when they’re so rough on their toys…and everything else in the house…. there’s not much that will stand up to those determined puppy teeth.

  9. Ha ha! We finally went to the antler for Mich too. The filled bones seem to work sometimes too. Otherwise he’ll go for the wall, a tree, his leash… 😉

    1. Oh I am glad to hear we don’t have the only Destructo Pup! Freighter likes those filled bones too, but I think the antler may hold up longer. We also use black Kongs.

    lol – too hilarious. What an adorable, clever little guy. If you put freighter on a web feed for observation… I would totally check in on that. Hard to resist the cuteness.

      1. Haha! Yes, and the webcam app we’re using doesn’t have sound, so I’m unable to tell if there is any whining or barking going on. But for the most part, if she’s laying down sleeping (which is most of the time), I’m not worried.

    I remember loosing my baby teeth, Mum was really happy as they were super sharp, she wasn’t happy when she stood on them on the carpet though!! Is your Mum keeping yours, my Mum has a little box with at least 4 in, no idea why? 🙂

  13. LOL oh how I love puppies!! You didn’t like that rug anyway, did you?

    There was a chew toy that my destructo could not destroy. I will get you the name of it tomorrow when I go to daycare.

    I still have little teeth marks on my love seat from my sweet puppy, everytime I see them it makes me smile.

      When Thunder was a pup we brought one toy that was “guaranteed indestructible”. Guess what? One day and back it went for a refund. It was not indestructible :lol:. And Thunder rarely chews now. Go figure.

  15. I tried an antler for the first time this weekend. It’s pretty good. Of course I got it for enjoyment only not to curb my destructive nature. Enjoy it little guy.
