We had a long weekend of training. We had a great time, but boy was it windy and cold. We came home each night totally exhausted.
For this Monday Mischief I am turning it over to Freighter because he has some mischief to share.
Freighter here…I spent all weekend watching the big dogs train. On Saturday they were fetching these things that looked and smelled like ducks, but they were frozen hard as a rock. I decided it was really a frozen football dressed up like a duck. They tried to give one of those to me to fetch, but my teeth were hurting a bit and I couldn’t pick that thing up. Who wants pick up a frozen football any way?
Then on Sunday they had a nice fresh duck. They threw one for me. I scooped it up so fast and ran in the opposite direction from the people. I know I am supposed to bring it back, but dang that duck was nice. I ran so fast that the tall guy had to do a diving somersault to catch the check cord attached to me. I was planning to run to Florida with my duck but he caught me. Fine, but I wanted him to know it was my bird and I wasn’t going to give it up easily.
This is a Blog Hop. Thanks to Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Luna, a Dog’s Life, and My Brown Newfies for setting up this hop. Please go to any of the sponsoring blogs to find out who else has been mischievous.
It was very kind of you to carry that tired duck Freighter. Great pictures!
Great Job on protecting that duck from the other dogs and the humans. Of course it is your duck, they did throw it to you didint they? That sounds like permission to keep it to me.
Dang your cute.
Bert
Nice one Freighter! I don’t blame you for not wanting to give that duck up. If they’re going to throw it away, they should know the rules…… finders, keepers! LOL!
Way to hold your ground, or in this case your duck, Freighter!
Haha! Too good a prize to share, I agree. Run Freigher run!
Freigher just blame it on being a puppy 🙂 Everyone needs to have a little fun here and there huh?! 🙂
His expression is priceless!
OK let me get this straight. They trow you the duck, then they want to take it back?! I don’t get it. Of course it’s yours, they said as much as they threw it to YOU.
Blessings,
Goose
That’s too funny! Next time you better gulp down on the run!!
Hey Freighter,
Great Mischief buddy – I think Florida’s quite a way though, you may not need to go so far!! 🙂
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
BOL! I think you win, Freighter! That was some pretty awesome mischief. But I agree with Goose ~ all the way! Freighter, you ROCK!
XOXO
HERO
Oh dang! I live in Florida! You could have brought it to me!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
Oh so laughing out loud. That would be Delilah except she would be chomping on the duck as she ran!
I’ve always wondered how you teach them they must drop the thing that smells so good~
Guess we will find out how to teach it. 🙂
He has gotten so big so fast. Do you eat the ducks?
Hi Y’all,
Oh Freighter! BOL!!! Can’t believe you didn’t outrun that 2 legged dude! You’ve got 4, yes twice as many, legs!
Snowin’ and blowin’ here so I thought I’d just hop by to say “hi” and see how y’all are doing.
Hope y’all had a great weekend and have a fantastic week!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Hmm, maybe I am a little ocnfused…they did throw to you right? Why would they throw it away if they wanted it back!! BOL! Great fun!!!
Hah, Freighter looks so happy and pleased to have that duck!
Typically, when Elka picks something up, especially if it’s longer and floppy like that, she shakes the heck out of it! I’d guess that isn’t a trait one looks for in gun dogs? ^^
Freighter,
Way to make the tall person run around! We’re glad you enjoyed playing with the duck. Nice photos!
Bella and DiDi
Freighter … you are awesome! I would have kept running too! Those humans should know that if they give you a duck it’s yours to keep 🙂 Just sayin!
Woofs and Wags,
Ash….I’m the Chessie from Dogs N Pawz!
I say it is yours, too! Finders keepers!
Your pal, Pip
Hey Freighter, Jet here.
Next time, if you feel the need to take the duck to Florida, give me a call, you can hang out with us!
Poor Freighter a real duck and he can’t keep it. Learning to give up a real duck is obviously much harder than giving back the “dumb” bumper!!
Hahaha! What a sweetie. He’s well on his way to becoming a great retriever!
Hey Freighter, I enjoyed your post.
That’s funny, our dog has no interest in ducks at all. When we see them at the park, she just ignores them and chases the squirrels.
Haha. Ohh Freighter. You will learn.
Also, that is the cutest series of pictures featuring a bird carcass I have ever seen!
Sigh. Sorry – we seem to be catching up again! Can somehow never keep up! 🙂
That was such a cute story – I can just imagine freighter doing that! 🙂 In fact, I always wondered how you would stop the dogs from just grabbing a duck and running off with it to eat it or something?! 🙂

Argh!! Seem to have logged in as myself instead of that Honey! Sorry!
