Continuing our training from last Saturday, the Master dogs also did a long water mark.  It was about 20 yards on land and then 100 yards across the pond, so approximately 120 yards in total.  Not only was it a long swim into the wind, but the dogs had to skirt the edge of the island which can sometimes throw them off.

Thunder was up first and did a very nice job on this and took a nice line to the mark.

For some reason the kid throwing the bumpers changed it up and threw the mark a bit shorter for Storm.  She is not always keen on super long swims, so she lucked out.  She did a nice job on this mark.

I didn’t get a lot of pictures of Storm because Freighter was watching her work.  His expressions were precious and I just had to snap a few pictures.

  1. What a great job! That is a long swim for them. Those pictures of Freighter say it all. I can’t believe how intense he looks while watching Storm! He really is a sweetheart! Love that last pic! 🙂

  2. I think Freighter is learning from watching his buddies! And they’re setting a great example for him too. 🙂

  3. I love how Thunder’s butt is just perched above the ground waiting to go and I agree, his expressions are precious. You can tell that he loves what he does. I do wonder what he’s thinking as he watches her. 🙂

  4. This looks like so much fun I kind of wish I could jump in there with the dogs. It’s been so long since I went swimming… Maybe I’m just in summer withdrawl?

I love the new header, by the way! The action shot is awesome!

  5. Woohoo another water post!!! We love these– the photos are so awesome. Both Thunder and Storm look like they had a great day! Those photos of Freighter are priceless LOL that yawning one is too cute 🙂

  6. Nice photos, and great intensity in the guys. Do you use a dummy launcher for your long retrieves?
