This fall we seem to have an overabundance of pine needles.
They are everywhere…
One member of the family is obsessed with them. He thinks they are a great delicacy. Bet you can’t guess who…
They were a huge temptation while I was trying to get some photos.
I finally got a couple of pictures that I will share later this week.
This is a Blog Hop. Thanks to Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Luna, a Dog’s Life, and My Brown Newfies for setting up this hop. Please go to any of the sponsoring blogs to find out who else has been mischievous.
Wow, your sure get a load of needles and they are huge ones..Hope you got a sneaky taste when Humom wasn’t looking 🙂 xx00xx

Hmmm….I wonder if there are so many pine needles because of the hot dry summer we had. I can’t believe Freighter wants to munch on them. There’s a liquor that my husband brought back from Germany called Eversbusch. It smells like pine needles as it’s made from juniper berries and is just horrible! It is obviously an aquired taste and apparently Freighter has it! LOL!
But mom…they are so tasty. BOL
I don’t get the appeal. Sampson loves to eat twigs and then he barfs them up. I swear Delilah eats acorns. Pine needles! Don’t they get caught in his throat?
I agree with Freighter. Pine needles are yum! If you eat enough of them, they ferment in your belly, and come up again usually around 3:00 AM. The peoples love that….!
I know, they are everywhere by me too! Thanks for your comment – yes, we had a blood check done and I had to google it too!
Hey Freighter,
You’re welcome to keep all those pine needles buddy – I don’t like them cos they get all stuck in my fluffy coat and I sure don’t like anything in my coat!! 🙂
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
No pine needles here in Florida! Maybe someday when I move to New Hampshire I will get to try them! Have fun with those, hehe.
Lovies, Miss Mindy
Ha-ha! Leroy likes to eat pine needles too! I have no idea why he likes all these crazy things!
I guy has got to get his fiber. And if it comes with a nice piney flavor all the better.
Blessings,
Goose
Hmmmm. We have tons of them around here too, but generally not that big! I won’t tell Sage how much someone there loves them…she doesn’t need to get into more mischief!
Pine needles are rather dry, but I guess with a little but of lemon and tabasco they would do a good salad.
This is my first time seeing Pine needles…they look okay 😉
We don’t have pine needles, so we have not tried them. They look like they would hurt your mouth trying to eat them. Hope you get you snack after pictures Freighter 🙂
There are tons here too! Our yard is now eternally orange… not a single speck of green grass poking through!
Perhaps it has something to do with the wonky weather we’ve been getting?
Thankfully, Kyuss doesn’t see them as edible.. he much prefers the small twigs that blow off the trees instead. =b
Sounds delicious, but won’t they prick your paws? *waggy tail*
You mean they are not for eating…lol Great shots!
