This ‘N That Thursday is for those times when you want to post about unrelated topics or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post. It can be anything you want, so feel free to grab the button and join us!
Thank You
I would like to thank Dorene, who is one of Storm’s breeders, for handling Storm in the show this past Saturday.
Storm can be a bit of a handful. Dog shows are not her favorite thing. She had a bad experience with a judge who startled her as a puppy so she would rather be anywhere but a show. She is more relaxed at outdoor shows, but they conflict with hunt test season. This indoor show was a chance to see how she would do now that she is older. I thought she did well in the ring and looked more relaxed than I have seen her. It is because Dorene does a such nice job with her.
This picture is from one of the last indoor shows Storm did in 2010. As you can see, she is not thrilled.
More Thank Yous
I received three blog awards recently (well a little longer than recently :)).
Heat Like A Dog and Terrier Torrent both awarded us the Blog of the Year Award. As you can see, they were for 2012. I am a little behind. Thank you, Thank you for this wonderful award! It is always fun to discover new blogs so if you haven’t been to Heart Like A Dog or Terrier Torrent, stop by and check them out. You won’t be disappointed! Also, check out any of the blogs on my blogroll (which I need to update :)).
Also, way back in the beginning of the January My GBGV Life gave is The Next Big Thing Award.
Thank you for this wonderful award Emma! If you haven’t met Emma yet, stop on over to My GBBV Life and say “Hi!”. Plus Emma has her very own store for those of you who need a shopping fix. 🙂
Tomorrow I will have some Follow-up and will attempt to answer some of the questions about dog shows. 🙂
Well done on your awards. Look forward to reading about showng as we know nothing about the them. It is colder here but the snow has gone and everywhere is mud not so glorious mud. Have a terrific Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Hooray for mud! We just have frozen ground!
Gosh with all the shows you’ve been at it’s easy to fall behind 😉 I love your training posts and will keep coming back for more of them…Happy Thursday!
It is so cold here, our field training has been temporarily put on hold. Not sure we will even be able to get out this weekend. The brown dawgs are getting restless. 🙂
congratulations on all of your awards!
Congratulations on the awards! Isn’t it amazing how dogs can remember fears and other strong impressions from puppyhood. Dogs have been underestimated for a long time.
Oh you can tell she’s not happy in that 2010 photo. LOL gotta love a dog that tells you how she feels. 🙂
Congrats on your well-deserved awards, I love discovering new blogs too, except now I’ve discovered so many I’m having a hard time keeping up!
Thanks for the woof out…your blog is always informative!
Congrats on the awards and, yes, poor Storm really doesn’t look like a happy camper.
Congrats on your awards! Storm looks good, hopefully she will continue to get over her fear of indoor shows. Nice to have someone to help you during shows.
Well done Storm. You are a fantastic and beautiful dog, and very talented.
Storms tail clearly shows how more comfortable she is this time around. Hope she did well!
Congrats on the blog awards! It’s always a good feeling!
Congrats on your awards!
Storm looks lovely ^^ That 2010 picture is a big comparison to the more recent one.
My boys do better in outdoor shows too. So when’s the next show?
Congratulations on your well-deserved awards!
I don’t think Freighter or Storm will be in shows anytime soon. Freighter is going back to the trainer the weekend of the Cobo show. Storm will be bred again when she comes back into season, then we would like to run her in some hunt tests later this summer. Next year for Freighter maybe. 🙂
I’m so glad she’s having more fun! Poor Storm!
Congrats on your great awards, sometimes we get behind and don’t get a chance to do that right away, I know. I saw a big difference in storm in 2010 with her tail between here legs that with Doreen standing proud and a lot more relaxed 🙂
Great pictures of Storm and a very love photo of Freighter. Congratulations on the blog awards – well deserved!
YAY!!! Congrats on all your awards! You deserve them and many, many more. 🙂
Love reading about the dog shows. What happened to Storm to startle her at the show?
God Bless You!
the collies and chuck 🙂
