There is still 12 inches of snow on the ground up by our cabin. On Sunday, the sun came out and the temperatures warmed up a bit. The birds were out and enjoying the weather before the next winter storm sweeps through. But just for a bit, they were chirping bringing a promise of Spring.

Gorgeous pics- me and Del can’t wait for spring. Long walks at sunset is what I really miss. Bring on those light nights! x
It will be so nice when there is enough light after work so that we can go out and train.
I’ve never seen a Nuthatch before. They are really rather beautiful. Thanks for that.
I bet you see some great birds where you live. 🙂
It’s coming, it HAS to be coming!
I hope so. The slush this morning was too much!
Thanks for the great photos!! I think that Downy Woodpecker is gorgeous! Never saw one before – what a nice treat!
Thanks. There are a lot of different kinds of woodpeckers by our cabin.
Love the little birdies. Roll on Spring. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
By the calendar Spring is less than a month away!
Promises promises!
Yeah right! We had wet snow yesterday and ice!
Beautiful birds. And I sure hope they are ushering in the Spring.
Blessings,
Goose
I hope so too Goose!
Unfortunately, spring is coming and we do not like the beginning of spring because it is such a mess outside and us doggies get so wet and dirty…we will be happier later in spring. We would also be ok if winter kept on coming for another month or so but I doubt that will happen.
That is the beauty of brown fur…the humans never see the dirt! lol
beautiful photos. I am sure after yesterday’s snow you must have close to 2 feet by now. Stay warm!
Bite your tongue…lol. I guess the snowmobilers are happy! In past years we have had snow well into April.
Woof! Woof! Saw some birds too yesterday. Yes Spring is coming soon. Happy Wednesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
We got ice and snow yesterday…so much for the birds…lol.
I was just thinking the other day how it had seemed like a really long time since I”d heard any birds…
Here too!
The nuthatch is so cute…never have seen those around here…Just yesterday I was looking out the kitchen window and there were a blue jay and a woodpecker hopping along together hunting dropped seeds…Hope your Spring comes soon
Those nuthatches range over most of the US and a lot of Canada. You might see one now that you know what to look for. 🙂
How gorgeous! I just saw some bluebirds in my back yard and it made me think Spring!
I saw one bluebird once on the feeder at the cabin. I had to look it up in the bird book. 🙂 It was beautiful.
Beautiful pictures, I hope that is a good sign that spring is around the corner.
Well they aren’t pictures of eagles. 🙂 I would kill to get those. 🙂
Fun! So nice of you to feed the birds. 🙂
Well there is a motive. We feed the woodpeckers to keep them off the cabin. 🙂
Oh birds. I love birds. I mean I. Love. Birds. I love them so much that mom had to teach me to look at her whenever I see one. This is not as fun as chasing, I mean playing, with them, but at least I get a tasty treat out of it 🙂
Nothing wrong with a good bird dog!
Are these all your bird feeders! That is sooo cool! Kirby is also crossing his paws spring gets here soon!
Yes those are all our feeders. We put suet out for the woodpeckers to keep them from pecking on the cabin.
Wow, there are so many different birds at your cabin. So cool! We just got hit with a slush storm. Our tree is weighed down right now.
We got slush too, but not so much to hurt the trees, thank goodness. We do have quite a variety of birds up at our cabin. I enjoy watching them.
Lovely! I adore seeing and hearing birds in the back yard – they’re automatic smile-makers. Spring’s almost here!
I am anxious for Spring this year!
Wow you got some great pictures and what a variety of birds! We don’t get many birds in our yard, sometimes a cardinal and of course the woodpecker. But we have had a hummingbird, which reminds me we need to get a new feeder.
BTW, I love the new header. Is that some special feature on your new camera?
We get hummingbirds at the cabin too. There are a lot of birds up there.
I made the header in photoshop. I took a picture of the marsh and cartooned it and then each dog and did the same and then layered them to make a header. Glad you like it. 🙂
Hi Y’all!
Mother Nature enjoys cruel jokes…just when our azaleas the pear trees are startin’ to bloom they are calling for a frost this coming Sunday night!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
How cool to see all the birds, spring must be just around the corner!! 🙂
Wags to all
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
