Welcome to the This ‘N That Thursday blog hop!

It’s a little of this and a little of that and everything in between…

We have been trying to get out to train despite the hot weather.  Tuesday we went to a local park and set up some land blinds.  We were a bit limited on space since we were trying to use the shady portion of the field.   When we got there the park was empty.  By the time we set up the blinds, several people arrived to do some fishing in the lake.  It was not optimal because you really don’t want a lot of excess hub-bub going on when you are training blinds, but when you train in a park that is what you get at times.

I was able to get some pictures of handler and dog.  It is a bit difficult to get both in the same frame.  For anyone wondering what handling looks like, here you go…

I have been trying to take some video with my new camera.  I took some of Storm training blinds this past Sunday.  She is still pretty rusty with her blind work.  Her triples are finally starting to come back so we hope that her handling won’t be far behind since she is running a test in a few weeks.

If the video doesn’t play try here.

Don’t forget to check out our giveaway for a really cool travel pack.  Entries are open through Saturday.

  1. Well done Storm but in the second one we can see you taking a sneaky peak at the water LOL. We were wondering do they ever get distracted with something to chase or are they always concentrating on the job in hand? Have a tremendous Thursday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. Well done in my opinion…I would have been long gone following the scent of a critter! Nice video too!

  3. So I know you probably get this question all the time, but do you use the dogs to actually hunt?

  4. Great series of Thunders blind work and great video, I loved the “it’s not her fault” as far as I’m concerned it is never there fault, always my fault.

    1. Some time I hope our paths will cross and we will be able to train together. You will see that with Storm, it sometimes is her fault…lol. She has been an interesting dog to train. She has definite ideas about how things should be done.

  5. That’s a great video. Interesting how she looked one way and went another. Was there something of interest in the other direction or was she simply being Storm?

Do you ever water train in the park? Do you worry about fish hooks?

  6. Hi Y’all!

Yep, easy to get distracted! My Human will attest to THAT! She forgot she posted the date for the Award for today! So no one got notified!!! Sometimes she has NO memory!!! So sorry you had to find out on your own!

Love the video! and the yellow box! What was in the yellow box, is what I want to know!

    Y’all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  7. Storm did great! I really enjoyed watching the video. I don’t understand all the lingo, but picked it up a little bit. It is all very interesting, and the dogs are so beautiful!

  8. You always do a great job of explaining how you’re training but the video really makes it clear…hope you post more of them…What was that yellow box? Was it something you left on the field? Shows how dogs really focus on everything in their environment
