A New Thursday Blog Hop Called Thursday Barks And Bytes
What happens when two blog hops collide?
Jodi from Heart Like A Dog and I are pleased to announce a new Thursday Blog Hop called Thursday Barks and Bytes.
Jodi and I have been talking for months about combining our two hops and it has finally happened!
Think of it as This ‘N That Thursday meets Follow-up Friday with a twist. We wanted the hop to be appealing to dog bloggers but also to non dog bloggers as well, which is where the ‘Bytes” comes in.
The Thursday Barks and Bytes Hop has few rules except that it happens every Thursday right here and over on Heart Like A Dog.

Dog Show News
The first day of the show is over and Freighter was a good dog…mostly. He did almost trip Cindy around the second turn, but they recovered and Freighter won his class and took Reserve Winner’s Dog. Let’s hope he is on best behavior for the next three days.
Freighter’s sister Sunny cleaned up and took Winner’s Bitch (a three point major toward her championship), Best Of Opposite Sex To The Best Of Breed, and Best Of Breed Owner Handler (which is something extra at this show). There was going to be a group competition of all the dogs that won Best Of Breed Owner Handler but we left because it was snowing and we wanted to hit the road.
I took my small camera since I had to help hold dogs. I got a couple of pictures of Freighter in the ring:

Pet Blogger Challenge 2014
I thought about not doing the challenge again this year. Now I remember why. Suddenly all of the free time I had around the holidays has vanished. I am behind on reading other people’s entries. I am behind on reading other people’s blogs. Have I put into practice any of the great tips and suggestions I received from the challenge? No. Have I even been on twitter this week? No and I have barely been on Facebook.
I hope to have a bit of time this weekend…
The Zax
I am happy so many enjoyed this post. I had fun writing it. As to who budged first, of course it was Freighter. Truth be told, he doesn’t stay in one spot very long. I guess he would not make such a good Zax after all.
Round & Round
While we were waiting for our turn yesterday, the Pugs just happened to be showing in a ring nearby. The little guy who would not walk on the rubber flooring was not much better on the show runners. He is a young dog (a puppy) so hopefully he will discover the fun and treats to be had at a show.
And that is my follow-up for this week.
The new hop means an end to the Follow-Up Friday Blog Hop, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t still be doing follow-up posts from time to time. It just means I have more flexibility as to when I do them. I would also like to get back to replying to comments and to visiting my blog pals on a more regular basis.

Don’t feel badly about not having enough time to keep up. With the racing around and long hours my Humans put in…and the time they spend with me…well, Twitter…I rarely ever actually see…and Facebook…well, people actually have noticed we are almost non-existent there, ever…Reading is fun, but time is so limited and usually we are all tired. I go in my crate and nap and the Humans fall asleep in their chairs until one of them wakes up and says “it’s late, we better go to bed”. 4AM the next morning it all starts over again.

Thank you SO MUCH for always supporting FUF, it really means a lot to me and while I’m a bit sad to see the hop go away, I’m very excited to be co-hosting this new hop with you. I think it will be a lot of fun. I love your badge and I love how the colors match your blog! That’s awesome.
I think Freighter and Sunny are doing very well considering they are still young dogs. I suspect there will be many titles they both earn over the years.

I’m with Kate — there just are not enough hours in the day to do all that we want to do. Sometimes us just gotta relax, take a deep breath, and let go. So don’t worry about being behind…heck, I’m probably a lot further behind than you are!

I love the new hop idea! And I always think it’s funny when dogs refuse to walk on a specific surface. I know several dogs that won’t walk on wood or tile floors at all. Very inconvenient, but hilarious to watch. 🙂

I think most of us have trouble finding the time to blog and visit other blogs as much as we’d like, so I definitely understand where you’re coming from. I like the new blog hop badge a lot. I’m not exactly sure what types of posts you’d be looking for – sounds like an “anything goes” type of hop….? I’ll check it out next week to get a feel for its direction. 🙂
