We finally got out to do some training on Saturday. It was cold, but sunny with only a light wind. It was a really enjoyable day watching the dogs work and catching up with friends. Thanks so much to Darrin of Farpoint Retrievers.
We ran across the frozen pond which was covered in snow. Even Thunder got to run a couple of marks and a blind. Did he have fun? What do you think?
Then the thrower moved to a different position and we moved the line a bit and Thunder got to run another mark.
Thunder was so happy to get out and as you can see he ran hard even though he will turn 8 next month. He was a tired pup that night.
Storm and Freighter had a nice day too. I will have more specifics about their training later this week.
Way to go Thunder we can see you really had snow much fun. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks Molly!
absolutely LOVE the “blast off” photos!! Fantastic!
Thanks you. Thunder had a blast…lol.
He’s looking good for an old guy!
He still runs hard!
Great workout running through the snow too! Great to see the snow fun/work.
It sure was a nice day. 🙂
That’s awesome. If Delilah was reliable, this is what I would be doing with her. Maybe that would stop her from being so mischievous!
Looks like Thunder had a grand time!
It definitely tires them out!
It’s good to see Thunder getting out. He’s no geriatric laze-about!
I guess you all are starting to gear up for competition season, right? Although, I imagine the lakes have to defrost just a smidge before then…
The first hunt test is in April, but we never go to it because it is too early in the season. The next is in May, but I am not sure Freighter will be ready. We really need to work on a few things before that and we can’t work on them until the weather breaks and ponds warm up. Storm might be ready though. We will see. 🙂
Glad you got to get them out and let them RUN! Thunder looks so happy – I love that full gallop on a dog. Great photos – thanks for sharing.
We were happy to see that Thunder did not limp after all of that. It was a lot of hard running.
Looks like he had tonnes of fun! And was super focussed! Love how his tail sticks straight up on the retrieve!
He still loves to train. 🙂
Looks like a good workout and lots of fun!

It was a nice day to get out.
Hand down, you take the BEST action shots! Looks like Thunder really had a blast 🙂
Thanks. 🙂 I would like to work on improving them.
Yep, I would say that he had a fantastic time!
He sure did!
Wow! That’s so impressive! I’m always impressed when anyone can walk on water. 😉
LOL good one!
I absolutely love that photo of Thunder going over the snow bank, and I am so happy that you had a pretty day to get out and enjoy!
Thanks. Not bad for an old dawg. 🙂
But young at heart!
MOL I love the photo of Thunder when he is going over the snowbank as well, glad Thunder had a great day!
–Siamese Smothers–
Thanks. He loves to train. 🙂
He really thundered across that pond, didn’t he? 😀
Good one! LOL
That is a crazy amount of snow! Thunder looks great running and leaping. I was tired after seeing the pictures! BOL!
Running in snow is a good way to tire them out.
Look at all that snow! I love that training is so much fun for Thunder!
He loves it and it keeps him on his toes. 🙂
At first when I read the title I though I read Thunder had bloat and my heart sank! Glad to was Thunder has a blast instead!
Glad to see that you are all out enjoying the snow! I’m ready for it to be gone!
Oops sorry for the scare. We are so ready for the snow to be gone!
Good boy Thunder, glad you got out and got some training in.
He likes to get out there and work like the rest. I am just glad he hasn’t shown any signs of limping.
I bet he was tired! What great exercise and fun for him!
It was excellent exercise.
Sure looks like he had a great time. Great that he didn’t drop the bumper when he took a spill.
He looks great for eight. 🙂
That snow bank tripped up both Thunder and Storm…lol.
They sure miss the action, don’t they? Snow or no snow, they’re raring to get back to work.
They do love to work. Unfortunately the snow is now too icy and we won’t have a warm up at least through this week. 🙁
Its just great seeing your dog enjoying himself in the snow, which reminds me of how my Siberian husky loved to play in the snow.. He surely has been missing out some snow action.
Hello there. I am finally finding some time to catch up with our bloggy friends. Looks like you guys are still having a great time as usual.
