Today we are wrapping up K-9 Kamp. The theme for this year was Backyard Fitness and Games.
So let’s review some of the fun the brown dawgs had in the yard.
Storm had some fun with her Kong. Storm is Queen of backyard fun, especially if it involves a Kong.
Poor Thunder, when there is a Kong involved, he doesn’t stand a chance. This is Thunder and Storm, both senior dogs, having some fun and getting some exercise.

The brown dawgs also had fun playing in the sprinkler. Surprise, surprise. Storm hogged it.
Thunder got to play with the ball all by himself.
Storm doesn’t always need toys. She has a tail. It is especially handy when she is trying to avoid coming into the house. Seven years old and she still chases her tail. At least it is a good workout.

You are probably wondering where Freighter is when all this backyard fun is going on? We continue to venture beyond our yard for our morning walks so that we both get some exercise. Walking on the sidewalk, his heeling is very nice despite the squirrels and birds that cross our paths. If only we could translate this to hunt tests….

Thanks so much to SlimDoggy, Peggy’s Pet Place, To Dog with Love for K-9 Kamp and for the FitDog Friday Blog Hop!
Have a nice weekend.
It’s great how dogs can make their own fun when there’s no one to play with. Sometimes I see Daisy pouncing from toy to toy with some kind of purpose that only she knows – it’s so funny to watch! 🙂
What a great wrap up. Have a wonderful weekend.
Wow the brown dogs are sure having fun in the garden. Love the pix and the one of the sprinkler system is the best. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
I love that Storm holds her own amongst the boys! Get that Kong, girl!
I love watching my girls — whether they’re playing, sleeping, eating, or cuddling with each other. I could do without watching them do their business tho’ but I have to so I know where to go with the “super-duper pooper scooper” (my Mom’s name for thing from my childhood).
I wonder if maybe you could do some “obedience” training/proofing at the hunt test testing grounds when no testing is going on? Maybe all the different distractions there are just too much for Freighter to resist without some prior work. Sounds to me like he’s “used to” the squirrels and birds that reside in your neighborhood, which is why he does so well there.
I’d say that Glory owns that Kong. Poor Thunder…such a gentleman. I love that scene where she gets the kong and then runs over an tackles him…Thanks for joining the Hop.
Katie chases her tail too when she doesn’t want to follow Mom’s orders. So funny! Love the sprinkler “war”.
Looks like you guys had tons of fun in the yard!
And your tail is the one toy that is always with you!
It looks a little as they would dance together :o) I like how relaxed Freighter walks with you, there is no wild jumping or pulling… he is great!
love the expression on Storm’s face when you said she dropped the ball on your foot. Loved actually HEARING them!
ooooohhh… does Thunder ever get jealous of Storm hogging the toy?? But they look good dancing around like that!! 😀 … Donna does heel well, but starts dragging her feet after a while… so while she starts out beside me… she always ends up behind me after a while – – which used to be a bother because she use to pick things up from the ground when I can’t see… doesn’t do that anymore after she got tired of me digging things out of her mouth I guess lol 😛
Thank you for joining K9Kamp. I think Storm is pretty smart. I love the sprinkler pictures too, it looks like a great way to get exercise and cool off and have fun.
oh we want to play too!

We love playing in the sprinkler… may just need to do that now! Thanks so much for joining us at K9 Kamp!
We love how they all have something they REALLY love to do. That sprinkler looks FUN! 🙂
At least Freighter is making progress, right? Storm reminds me of Cricket….always hogging the toy and has to be in charge of the games! Cricket also stalls when it’s time to come in, only she has her nose to the ground smelling things, and that’s very important work…just like tail chasing! I need to get a sprinkler (we actually might have one somewhere) because I think Luke would love it.
OMD! You all are so cute! We’ve moved into house that doesn’t have a fenced back yard, so outdoor games have been a little limited. We’ve been playing a lot of indoor games. You’ve inspired me, though, to find Pierson’s 20ft lead and take them out for some summer fun. BTW, it is sometimes difficult to play with both Maya and Pierson at the same time because Pierson hogs all the fun, just like Storm.
Great to see the seniors having so much fun in the yard! Toby has one of those big plastic balls, and it’s his very favorite. Glad to hear your walks are going well with Freighter. Like you, we do a lot of our walks with Meadow now, and leave the seniors behind. Both are having mobility issues, and when I do walk them, it is short, no more than 1/2 mile. But Meadow is young and needs her exercise, and a romp in the yard is not enough. 🙂
Loved the videos. We think Storm is queen of the Kong and sprinkler. 🙂 Glad Thunder loves the ball and gets to be ball king. Looks like Freighter is doing well on your walks. Hugs and nose kisses
When i see dogs at play i wonder if i should have a dog around the house for Scooter to hang out with too…..Thanks for sharing!
Hi Y’all!
Watchin’ y’all havin’ so much fun, I maybe should rethink talkin’ the Humans into a brother or sister.
Hey Freighter, y’all have sidewalks! Amazing! I only see them when we go to town.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
