Halloween is almost here. The stars of Halloween night are the cute Trick or Treaters and the bags and bags of candy just waiting for them.
Except candy is not for doggies.
The brown dawgs don’t want to be left out, so I made them some easy frozen treats.
All you need is some silicone ice cube trays, some plain low fat or greek yogurt, canned pumpkin and some chopped apple.
I had two silicone trays. One made bone shaped treats and the other carved pumpkin treats. I used about 3/4 cup pumpkin, the same amount of yogurt and one half apple peeled, seeded and chopped small. You could vary the amounts as you like, more yogurt, less pumpkin, more apple, or less. It really doesn’t matter. Just mix your ingredients together and plop them into the trays.
Since I was including chopped apple, I was not too careful about smoothing out the trays. I just made sure each cube was full. Then I put them in the freezer for about 2 hours or until frozen. Once frozen, I popped them out and it was time to taste.
You don’t want to go hog-wild feeding these treats all at once. I think each dog had two treats and then I put them away until next time. I stored the leftovers in a covered container in the freezer so if any doggies show up for Trick or Treat, the brown dawgs can share.
Errr share? Looks too good to sharing for us. They sound great and a healthy option too. Have a terrific tasty Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

Yummy! Love how you added apples! Thanks for sharing!
After reading many posts, including my own, I have determined that pumpkin apple anything is the way to go this time of year! Enjoy!
I never thought to add some apple to the pumpkin and yogurt. I can see how it would be appealing!
YUM!!! We’re gonna try those asap!

That treat sounds like a winner and easy to make too. How nice of you sweet brown dawgs to want to share if there are dogs come to your place trick-or-treat night. Thanks, for sharing the recipe with us. We love the pictures! Hugs and nose kisses
Great idea! We’ve made frozen pumpkin treats, and frozen apple treats, but we never combined the two! I know the dogs would love those so we’ll do them next time we’re making some.
nummy nummy they loved them.
What’s not to be sure about? Those treats seem like winners!
