Last month we received another Liebster Award from Cello’s Corner. Many thanks to Cello’s Corner for the award.
The first part of this award is to answer 11 questions posed by the blog bestowing the award.
Cello’s Corner asked:
1. Most bloggers have a moment where they say to themselves, “I need to tell the world about this!” What was that moment for you?
I am not sure I had a specific “moment”. One day in 2009 I just decided to start writing.
2. What is the craziest thing you have ever done with your dog(s).
I am not sure we have done a lot of “crazy” things with them, but one time when we were traveling with Thunder and Storm we stopped at a rest area to air the dogs. It had been snowing and it was a bit slippery. We were on a bit of an incline when all of a sudden Thunder decided he wanted to run over and sniff Storm. The only problem was that I was holding his leash and did not see it coming. I lost my balance and fell face first into the snow but never let go of the leash. That was crazy, (and cold).
3. More and more establishments are starting to become pet-friendly. What are your thoughts on this policy? And do you hope that it becomes more of the “standard” in the future?
I think it is great for places that want it, but If they don’t, that is OK too.
4. Have you have taken your dog to a dog-friendly winery/bar/restaurant/attraction? If so, what was your favorite place, and why?
No we have not. We have stayed in several hotels with them for hunt tests and dog shows.
5. What is your favorite game to play with your dog?
Fetch.
6. Does your dog sleep in bed with you?
No way. Sometimes they sneak and sleep on the bed when we are not in it.
7. What is the silliest thing you have ever seen your dog do?
I am not sure it is the “silliest”, but just last week Freighter decided he did not want to go into his crate for the day. Instead he went around to the outside of the crate door and pushed it shut with his nose and then sat next to me at heel. I laughed and laughed.
8. Does your dog participate in any organized activity, competition, or sport?
Yes, conformation (dog) shows and hunt tests.
9. What type of training do you use with your dog?
I am not sure I understand this question. We do field training for hunt tests.
10. How many dogs total do you have? Have you ever thought about adding another to the pack?
We have three dogs and that is enough.
11. Do you carry a first aid kit with you when traveling with your dog? If so, what do you think are the most important items you have in your kit?
Yes we carry an extensive first aid kit. I would say the most important items are: thermometer, bandages, gauze, tape, tweezers, scissors, hydrogen peroxide. If you want to read more about our kit, the post is here.
Now I am supposed to list 11 random facts about myself, but instead I am going to list one.
Tomorrow I am scheduled to have surgery on one of my eyes. I will not be posting on Friday or over the weekend, but hope to return to my regular schedule on Monday. I may be a bit slow visiting your blogs, it depends on how my eye feels. I am told that I should be OK to work on Monday so I figure blogging should be included. 🙂
Have a nice weekend and thanks again to Cello’s Corner for the great award.
