The winter doldrums are here.  January days in Michigan are short, cold and dark.  But now and again the sun comes out and then it is time for Freighter to get out and…

Chase Away The Winter Doldrums

There are so many things a dog can do for fun.

A dog can run around the cabin 87 times.

Finally, a dog can snack on some snow.

  1. Snacking on snow is one of Barley’s most favorite activities, too! I love that Freighter retrieves snowballs–I’ve tried tossing some for Barley and when they thud in the snow, she just looks at me like “what just happened?” but she does love to chase her toys in the snow.

  2. we sadly have to stay in my crib the most time… my area is a giant skating rink with slippery ice everywhere… hope the sun will do the trick soon and I can run around my cabin 87 times with full speed :O)

  3. I love the photograph of Freighter with a snowball in his mouth! Earl loves catching them in the air, although we haven’t had any snow this year.

  4. Still no snow. But I did take a picture of the ponds to send to you. I’ll see if I can find it (or take another).

    I’m such a stalker. Jeez.

  5. I just love all the outdoor space you have!!! Looks like so much fun! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

  6. It looks like you have some nice snow at the cabin! We are hopefully getting some more today..snow definitely makes things more fun and the dogs just love getting out and running around in it. It really helps me to hate winter less too, by seeing how much the dogs enjoy it. 🙂

  7. The few times we’ve had snow over the years, it covered ice so we had to walk carefully around the yard (and everywhere else as well). It was in February of 2013 that Callie tore her left CCL while playing with Shadow and Ducky in the snow.
