More On The MCBRC/ACC Supported Entry
Thunder has not been in a show ring since 2010 but he did a nice job on Saturday. The first time around he was pretty excited, but then he buckled down and moved really nice. He was the only dog in the Hunting Dog Class so after he received his 1st place ribbon, be moved on to the Best of Breed competition. He didn’t do anything in Breed, which was not a big surprise, but he got some nice comments ringside from some spectators. He also won a duck decoy as a trophy in addition to the 1st place ribbon.
The SRR dogs all represented. They all finished in the ribbons. Freighter’s brother Woody was entered in Open Class. He was the only dog so he go the 1st place ribbon. Freighter’s sister Sunny was entered in the Bitches Bred By Exhibitor Class and took 2nd place. That was a tough class with many nice bitches entered so good job Sunny!
Thunder’s daughter Smokey took Best of Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed and Freighter took Reserve Winners Dog. A good day! Congrats to all who entered and to the winners.
Some Thank You’s
I would like to thank Dawn from Nature By Dawn for the wonderful picture she drew of Thunder. When I contacted her to ask if I could purchase a print, she sent me the original and a print! I couldn’t wait to get them framed, one for us and one for Thunder’s co-owner. I love the way it turned out. Thanks so much Dawn! We will cherish this picture.
We have been on a winning streak. Last month Sugar the Golden Retriever turned 12 and had a birthday blog hop and giveaway. In honor of Sugar’s birthday our post was titled: Big Smiles. And we won first prize which was a $25 gift certificate to Best Elk Antlers. Of course I couldn’t wait to order. Antlers are a big thing in our house (come back tomorrow to hear more about that). Thank you, thank you Sugar and Best Elk Antlers!
We also won the second place prize of a doggie car harness for participating in the BlogPaws Pet Safety Blog Hop. The post we entered in the hop was titled: Wordless Wednesday-Staying Safe In The Car. The harness was kindly donated by Dawn from PetAutoSafety.com. We picked a camo harness (how cool is that?) in extra large for Thunder because sometimes he rides in the truck with us. Thank you Dawn and BlogPaws!
Finally, we also won some Rabbit Jerky from Flea and Jones Natural Chews. It arrived today so I have not had time to take pictures, but it is a huge hit especially with Thunder who doesn’t usually get that excited about treats. At one point I thought he was going to do a back flip. :) Thanks Flea! I hope to get some pictures before it is all gone.
