Welcome to the This ‘N That Thursday blog hop!

It’s a little of this and a little of that and everything in between…

Co-hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and  Ruckus the Eskie

A Run In The Park Then

Yesterday morning we took the brown dawgs out for a run in the park.  It is an annual Christmas morning tradition for us.  We usually get together with family on Christmas Eve so the dogs spend the evening not doing much.  A brisk walk with the dogs on Christmas morning is a great way for us to start the day and helps the dogs burn off some energy.

We started our Christmas morning tradition in 2007 when Storm was just 6 months old.  (Her half birthday is on December 25th.)

I have shared these pictures from 2007 on the blog before, but for those of you who haven’t seen them, here they are again.

And Now

Yesterday it was quite a bit colder than Christmas Day 2007.  There was a brisk wind and a few snow flurries.  There was also quite a bit of ice on the field which wrecked our plan to throw a couple of marks for the dogs.  There is a big hill in this park, so we walked along the top of it because it was mostly clear of ice.

Things haven’t really changed much from 2007 to today.  Chasing is still the preferred fun for the brown dawgs.

Come back tomorrow to see what Santa brought the brown dawgs.

  1. Hi Y’all!

Hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas!

Whoopee!!! What a wonderful morning for the Brown Dawgs!!! I think chasin’ each other is the BEST!!!

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  2. They sure do look like they are having a great time! You had snow on the ground for Christmas…I’m so jealous! It was a beautiful day here but no chance of snow…ever! LOL

  3. It sounds like a wonderful tradition! We took the dogs for a Christmas Eve walk, something I hope we can add to our traditions. Since we were hosting yesterday, the dogs got a quick trip to the woods at the top of the street but there was so much activity, they were pretty tired out last night.

I love the baby picture of Storm, she is such a beautiful dog!

  4. Looks like a lot of fun. Mom wishes she could just let us loose but then we are scent hounds and we would be gone! Not to worry, we do have plenty of fun, but running loose in a park like that would be a lot of fun and your three pups clearly had a Christmas blast!

  5. Looks like you had a bucket load of fun! I know I would have in that snow.

  6. What a great tradition! The dogs really are enjoying themselves. It was fun to see the differences from when you started to now. I love the new look to your blog!

  7. Your dogs are stunning. It looks like they had a blast! What a wonderful tradition. I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas! Can’t wait to see what Santa brought them. 🙂
