Freighter had a really good weekend in the show ring.  On Saturday he took Winners Dog and Best Of Winners for 2 points toward his Championship.  On Sunday he took Best Of Opposite Sex over a Special dog (or a dog that is already a Champion) for 1 point.

This show was a smaller show and one of the dogs that was entered did not show up so Freighter was really fortunate to earn three points this weekend.  He only needs one more point to earn his Championship.

It was a difficult venue to take photos because of the ring configurations and the lighting.  Saturday I was not able to get any decent pictures of Freighter moving because of the lighting and Sunday I was not able to get stacked photos because of the ring configuration.  Here are my best photos from the weekend.

Sometimes prizes will be offered for various winners.  At this particular show there was a prize offered to the Chesapeake Best Of Winners.  If there are any prizes they will be listed in the show premium.  So checking there we found that it was a “Ceramic Stein offered by Ruby Creek Dog Association in memory of Ch. Chestnut Hills Kentucky Derby”.  It was an unexpected and welcome extra.  Here is a picture of Freighter with his ribbons and his prize. You probably can’t see, but the picture on the stein is of two chessies.

With Freighter only needing a point to finish, we are debating entering another show (or two) this summer.

Decisions.  Decisions.
