Thank you to everyone who stopped by to read, or to press the “like” button, or to make a comment in 2011. I have discovered so many wonderful blogger friends this past year. I enjoyed reading your blogs and looking at your pictures. Sometimes I smiled and sometimes I laughed out loud. Some posts touched my heart, especially those about the loss of a loved one or a friend. May 2012 bring you laughter, health and happiness!
After a week off the Sunday Stills photo challenge returns. This week’s challenge is to:
Post your favorite photo from 2011 and your photographic hopes for 2012.
See more Sunday Stills, here.
My favorite picture from 2011 was the one that I took last January. It was also the picture that we used for our Christmas card this year. Many people asked me if I posed the dogs, but I did not. They were outside playing and climbed up on the snow pile themselves. The lighting was just right and I snapped the photo…

My photographic hopes for 2012 are to continue to take pictures of the dogs working. I just love taking pictures of them when they are moving but I need a lot of practice. They move so quickly, you just have a split second to get them in the frame. I am always happy when I get a nice picture or two. 🙂

Also, I hope to get clear pictures of the new puppy and not blurry pictures like this one. 🙂 Dang I wish I had gotten that picture of the pup with his first wing. But puppies won’t hold still…

Of course I can just wait until the pup falls asleep…

I love that photo for your Christmas card, it was just so lovely.
Hope you have a wonderful 2012!
Happy New Year to you too Finn!
Happy New Year you guys!!!! woo woo woo!
Happy New Year rumpydog!

Thanks. I love pictures of pups napping. 🙂
Happy New Year! Great picture in the snow! Can’t wait to see all the pictures 2012 will bring!
Happy New Year to you Sam!
Yeah, I can relate. I have a lot of sleeping dog pictures myself. As your dogs get fast, you may need to invest in a camera that can keep up with them. 🙂
Keep the pics something. Looking forward to more in 2012.
I wish, but I think our budget will be spent on training and tests. 🙂 But I am going to try (note I said try) to figure out some of the manual settings on my camera.
Yep! I had to get a camera with a “sports” setting as “kids and pets” on my old camera was useless!! We so enjoy your photos and learning about dogs who actually WORK for a living. Happy 2012!!
I use the sports setting all of the time. Great setting. Unfortunately it is following the dogs when they are 100+ yards out that is tough. 🙂
I love the first shot of the boys in the snow. Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year to you!
Great pictures! I love the action shots too, but am not that good at moving my camera quick enough to keep up, but every once in awhile I get lucky!
I look forward to seeing more of your great shots and following your adventures in 2012!

Happy New Year Kim!
Love these pics. I have lots of pics with only Bongo’s back leg or tail in them.
You turned up in my list of Top 5 supporters this year. Thanks so much. Happy New Year!
You are welcome Bongo! I am so glad that I discovered your blog! We have pictures with just a foot or a tail in them too and the best ones…just grass. 😆
As always, I love your pictures. I know you already have the Liebster Award but guess what? You’re getting it again. Your blog is one of my favourites. I love to read about Thunder and Storm
and of course the new puppy to be. They are such beautiful dogs. Your blog has also given me an insight to dog training and “birding”. So thank you and congrats!
Thank you Bassetmomma! I am honored. I can’t wait to pass it along.
Great pictures, I see why you used the first one as your card.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too!
I love that photo too! I am also SO excited about your little brown lamb, I mean puppy to be! Less than two weeks, right? 🙂 It will be a challenge to get photos of a non-sleeping puppy, but I hope you do. (I barely have any of my two.)
Happy New Year to you and yours!
Yes we are under two weeks until pup comes home. Hope I have time to post after that. 😉
Happy New Year to you!
You always do a great job with the dog’s pictures, the Christmas card picture is awesome. I love the orange collars against the brown of the dog’s fur, it is very complimentary.
Ok, so you showed the puppy again, is he living with you yet? I can’t wait!!
Puppy is scheduled to come home with us on the 13th, if all goes well with the “wellness check” which is on the 10th. Not sure which one yet though. 🙂
Happy New Year! I have so enjoyed reading your blog and learning all about the sports that Storm and Thunder do! I can’t wait to see what is ahead for 2012!
Happy New Year to you too. Can’t wait to hear about Leroy and Sherman in the new year!
We are certainly happy to have found your blog. We enjoy all your posts very much and all the pictures of the beautiful dogs…they are amazing. Thank you for visiting our blog and for all your comments. Hugs and nose kisses
Great new blog design. You get such great “motion” photos I assumed you were using a digital SLR with a fast shutter speed. If you are, check out your camera’s settings and shoot in multiple-frame mode. With only minor adjustments you can track your subject and fire away instead of worrying about having to frame them and wait. it’s a lifesaver for us. Maybe I am preaching to the choir but by your post it didn’t sound like you were using that method.
And thank you too for a great 2011. It was great meeting and learning more about your hunting tests this year. We look forward to another great year with you!
