It was a beautiful day for training and the turnout was huge on Saturday. Many people and many dogs at all levels. Darrin set up a triple with one mark on land and two in the water for the Master level dogs. One mark was a very loooong swim which required the dogs to swim, exit the pond, run over a point of land, enter the pond again, swim to the other side, and pick the bumper up on land.
Both Thunder and Storm did fine on the first two marks that they were sent to retrieve (#3 then #2). On the last mark (#1), they both got hung up on the land point and hunted around the decoys that were set up there. They had to be handled back into the water and across the pond to the far mark (#1). We know that we need to work on this. This is one of their weak areas because we do not have access to ponds that have this type of water feature.
The sun was shining and I took some nice pictures. Thunder was up first.

It was a great day to be outside with the dogs. Unfortunately next weekend we are scheduled to return to winter. I am spoiled now. I want more of last weekend’s weather.
Tomorrow, I took some video of Thunder retrieving a long water single.
We are getting spoiled by the nice weather now too! I do wish we had a pond around here where I could trust the dogs to swim. It looks like they have such fun with those bumpers! And of course they do a wonderful job. 🙂
Boy, I can see where their muscles come from with all that land and water exercise! Great photos. 🙂
They sure make me want to swim.
Blessings,
Goose
What perfect weather you had for training. Both Storm and Thunder look like they thoroughly enjoyed the day. You sure got some terrific water shots! 🙂
I love the pictures of Storm watching the markers (and entering the water)!
We are so impressed by your training regimen. We’re glad you had some nice weather to exercise in.

What a nice chance to get some early warm weather training in. I know the Chessies don’t mind the cold but it makes everything much more pleasant for the humans.
That last mark looks tough! They look so intense while watching.
Awesome photos, awesome dogs! I would love to be able to watch them! Looking forward to tomorrows video!
These photos are stunning!! Looks like both Storm and Thunder had a great day 🙂 We love seeing them retrieving in water– so cool!
Great photos! You’ve got a real nice training area there.
