A few random things from last weekend’s hunt test:

Several of you commented on the dog rigs in the picture that I posted yesterday.

This particular test usually draws a lot of professional trainers because it is one of the last opportunities to qualify for the Master National before the year-long qualification period ends.  To qualify to run in the Master National, dog have to pass 6 Master tests in a year.  There were pros at this test from as far away as Texas.  They have fancy dog trailers.  Nothing like the little one that we have on order which is delayed due to the company being behind schedule.  😐

This is Freighter’s brother Woody.  He and his human stopped by the test to say “hi” and visit.  To was great to see them.  He must have brought his Grandpa Thunder good luck for the last series.  🙂   He sure is cute and a lot calmer than his brother Freighter.  Except when he heard one of the guns and then he just wanted to GO!

Finally, this is a cute chocolate lab puppy that one of the out of state pro’s brought along.

Chocolate Lab Pup

He was adorable.  His name is Bad Bad Leroy Brown.  Not sure of the spelling or his kennel name.  Who knew that I would meet two dogs with basically the same name in my lifetime. 🙂

Haven’t met Leroy the Newfie?  Stop over and say “hi”.

  1. Love that name – Bad Bad Leroy Brown! So creative. Have a great Thursday!

  2. How funny! My husband and I went to Dallas for New Year’s last year and in the hotel lobby was a man who lived in the penthouse with his big old English bulldog named Bad Bad Leroy Brown too.

  3. Those Chessies sure are handsome boys. 😉 Love the little chocolate lab, it makes me wonder what Delilah would like.

  4. Curious about preparing dogs to ride in a separate trailer (since I’m training Honey to ride in my bike trailer; my mind goes in that direction). Are the dogs so comfortable in their crates that they don’t mind being separated from you? Or do you think you’ll have to do some training to get them comfortable in the new dog trailer?

    1. All our dogs have been with pros at one time or another and all have already been in a dog trailer so I think the transition should be fairly smooth. Plus what you can’t see is that the spaces inside are open to one another (with bars or a grate separating them). It is not like the dogs are in a tiny closed in box, they can see one another. I think that helps. Normally our dogs travel in crates in the car or the back of the truck (when it is not too hot or cold to put them in the back of the truck). They are comfortable being separated from us and they are Chessies so in that respect temperament makes it easier. 🙂

  5. Thats poopie about the trailer. =[
Those two puppies though sure are cute! Gosh, Woody looks a lot like Thunder! I know Chessies look alike, but there is something in his face that just reminded me so of Thunder XD

    1. He does look a bit like Thunder, although at that age Thunder had big floppy ears…lol. I think maybe it is the eyes that look similar and Woody has Thunder’s coat style.

  6. That is an uncommon name, and two dogs from Canada no less. Both Freighter’s brother and the lab pup are real cuties!

    1. I thought it was an uncommon name too and had to laugh because one was so big and the other so small. 😆

  7. A trailer would be nice, but I first would have to get my driving(which I hate) up to date.
As for now Doggy travels curled on my feet, not the safest way but it works.
The brown pup is really cute, before Doggy I got offered one of those, almsot got it but decided to wait a little but more.

    1. When we go to tests, it will be the best way to lug our stuff and the dogs. We always seem to need so much stuff at a test. Pop up tenting for shade, fans, batteries to run the fans, sunscreens, chairs, water/bowls. By the time we have loaded up, there is no room for people…lol

  8. Hi Y’all,

Thanks so much for stoppin’ by for a visit. I’m so glad y’all could make it!

Going to try to do Q & A day tomorrow. I’ll answer your comment about the watering can.

    Y’all come back now,
