This ‘N That Thursday is for those times when you want to post about unrelated topics or each topic isn’t quite long enough to make up a whole post.  It can be anything you want, so feel free to grab the button and join us!

Thunder had a recheck at the vet this morning.  He has been having a few issues with the cast rubbing the front of his leg.  In fact hubby ran him to the vet last night because the area was so raw and the things were trying to make him more comfortable were not working.  Unfortunately he got the only vet at the practice that we do not care for, but the vet fixed him up enough to make him a bit more comfortable until his recheck this morning.

To make Thunder even more comfortable, the ortho vet applied some powder to where it was rubbing added foam to try to cushion the area.  Thunder will go back for a recheck again next week, but we can bring him in sooner  if necessary.  The vet also sent some of the powder home.  We are trying to keep the cast on as long as possible.

Before the vet checked out Thunder’s cast, he kidded me about having no signatures on it.  He said the old saying is that it heals faster with signatures.  I told him that several of you had asked me to sign on your behalf and I just did not get around to it.  My bad.  I need to get on that!  If you want to be included, let me know in comments, I’ll see what I can do.  🙂

Unfortunately, Thunder has to spend more time in the cone of shame.  He is managing OK and has even figured out how to get a drink of water while wearing it.  Leave it to Thunder.  When ever he has wanted something bad enough, he has figured a way to get it.  When he was a puppy, he could clean a kong out faster than anything.  He would drool, yes drool, on the cookies inside and then bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce it until the cookies fell out.  It usually took about two minutes.  So much for a kong keeping him busy.

You might be wondering what Thunder and Storm did all last weekend while Freighter was out getting his duck and grouse hunting.

Thunder took a nap.

  8. Ginger, Gauge Grace and Gunner would like to sign Thunders cast. They hope it never happens to them. By the way how is Storm doing??? Getting any bigger?

    1. She is bigger a bit but not huge. She has no waist and is carrying more to the sides. We had Cindy look at her and she thinks there are probably pups, but I don’t think there are many. Won’t be too long now. If there are pups, a couple of weeks.

  13. I am catching up on my blog reading and working through from the most recent so have only just heard about poor Thunder’s leg 🙁 I am pleased to hear that the vet has made him feel a bit more comfortable. Poor Thunder. I send him a big hug!

  15. No matter what I put in Kongs, frozen or not, Bella & Beary get whatever it is out in under a minute. They should be product testers at the Kong facility!!

  17. Since Lexie has had two bouts with her front legs this year Lexie and Mica would like to sign cast to help it heal. Sorry it’s so uncomfortable it’s rubbing the skin raw. Hopefully that is fixed soon and his leg heals soon, so thunder can get back out there!!
