As predicted, we had really lousy weather this weekend.  It was cold, windy and rainy, (with a few snow flurries on Sunday!).  It was more like March than the middle of May.  We got out for some training despite the weather.  This coming week hubby will be digging in to get some more training in for Freighter ahead of his upcoming master level hunt test this weekend.

Crummy weather meant the forest animals were scrounging for food.  Saturday morning we had both deer and turkeys in our yard. You can see from the pictures how gloomy it was.

Thunder and Storm have both been on limited activity but have been released to do a bit more walking so they got out despite the bad weather.

While not great weather for training, gloomy weather makes good napping weather at least.

  1. yes… gloomy weather is perfect for a nap… we have bad weather too so I watch downton abbey… when I can not train to become a good hunting dog, I maybe can become a lord with watching tv :o)

  2. We had a perfect weekend – and Monday – weather wise; but we woke up to rain this morning. It’s supposed to last most of the day, too. Oh well. At least I’ll be able to get in some indoor work with Ducky. Right now they’re both sound asleep.

I hope Storm and Thunder are healing well. Bless their hearts, it must be hard for them not being allowed to run around. And good luck with Freighter’s test training! Hope the weather improves!!

  3. Our weekend weather was fairly similar. In fact, I was beginning to wonder if the continent had flipped and I was living in the Pacific Northwest. 🙂 BUT it turned around and we are expecting warmer weather for the foreseeable future.
