A couple months back Glory, of Sand Spring Chesapeakes, arrived at the Love Shack to spend some time with Thunder and hopefully the result would be puppies.

You see Glory had a miss the first time she was bred, (it happens).  Once JoAnn decided on Thunder as stud, the plan was to do as many natural breedings as we could get in so that hopefully this breeding would take.

Thunder is a romantic kind of dog so he made the most of his time with Glory.  He gave her a tour of the local park; shared some tasty treats with her and even wrote her a limerick for National Limerick Day.

He was really working it.

But he is a senior dog.  In order to help him recharge and fulfill his stud dog duties, he was getting a bit of extra protein in the form of scrambled eggs.  Being a retriever he didn’t mind the extra food at all, (he didn’t mind the stud dog part either but that goes without saying 😉 ).

The result is:

9 Beautiful Puppies

The count is 6 girls and 3 boys.

Mom and pups were checked out at the vet and all doing well.

I hear Glory is a fabulous mama, but even fabulous mamas need a rest.

When Thunder heard the news he jumped for joy!

It must have been the scrambled eggs.

Thanks so much to JoAnn for allowing me to share some of her wonderful photos of Glory and her puppies today.   Congratulations on the beautiful litter!

  11. How blessedly exciting but I have to think if scrambled eggs produces this kind of outcome, I’m pitching those buggers from the fridge tonight when I get home! Haha. Congrats to the handsome papa pooch. Don’t you just want to do lipstick head to Glory’s babies? Happy weekend. 🙂
